I mean, come on, there's a lot of REAL killing going on in the U.S.
Why don't we worry about solving that problem first, and then we can get around to protesting and investigating the FAKE killings in books, video games, movies, and other entertainment media?
You ever do a particular search for something like hotel reviews? Most of the time (minus links to tripadvisor.com -- which is actually quite useful), you end up with sites that have created steering pages for you to go to their hotels.
It's not what you want at all, and it's frustrating to sort through the muck to find what you want.
I mean, the reason I'm searching in the first place is to find what I want, not to have to do my own search filter!
I work for Irrational Games, developers of System Shock 2 and Freedom Force. We are currently working on a number of titles including Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich and Tribes: Vengeance, and have an office in Boston (USA) and Canberra (Australia).
We've grown and prospered over 5 years, and all of us look forward to making great games that people enjoy. We also enjoy the freedom of making decisions that affect what the game will be, rather than being told how we should make the game.
In addition, I am a judge for the Independent Games Festival, where 112 independent teams of game developers have submitted their independent games that they have funded and developed on their own to be judged and presented at GDC 2004.
While there is a lot of recent setbacks for independent developers, especially in the UK, the people who want to make their voices heard independently will continue to do so, reguardless of their financial situation. Independent games will continue to be made, and those voices will continue to be heard.
I don't know of anything as extensive as the French or UK site sounds, but our government does offer HiCitizen.com, which makes it easier to find the information you're looking for on government web sites.
That's a bad idea, just because the code that your write for your "virus hunter" of sorts could be buggy as well, and as it propogates itself, it could crash other's machines. I would be extremely pissed off if someone's anti-virus virus crashed my machine, very pissed...
Although the current method of anti virus software is not perfect, because people not having the software or updated virus definitions, it's currently the best way, and there are definitely improvements to be made in the field.
Absolutely, we absolutely shouldn't base our decisions upon what others think, nor should we believe that we will have "too much of an advantage" (which is an argument that I have not heard used in missle defense, but I will disagree with it anyway).
I believe that we should listen to other countries' concerns on the project, and we should question ourselves on the project every step of the way. This is what I believe to be going on in Congress (cut below the surface of the rhetoric, and you'll tend to believe this too), as Democrats and Republicans tangle over the expenditures and sciences of the project.
What I don't believe is that a Missle Defense is essential to the safety of the United States, but that doesn't make me a traitor. It just makes me an opinionated American.
The way I see it, the moment anyone drops or fires a nuclear bomb at us or anyone else, we will all die from the nuclear radiation driven by the jet stream as retaliations are made by us and whomever else.
tentac1e, did you ever read "On the Beach" Although a piece of fiction, it details a nuclear holocaust that destroys every living thing on Earth. Not because of the bombs, but because of the radiation that goes with the bombs.
It doesn't matter how many we can destroy before they hit us, because when we strike back, and we WILL strike back, it will eventually come back to us in the form of nuclear radation. Here's a map for ya, and some more info on the effects of a nuclear bomb here
Your point that MAD is "Un-American" is completely untrue. I personally believe in Mutally Assured Destruction. My opinion is an American one because I can be proud say it out loud, cause that's what Americans do
Wasn't this same idea called MPC sometime back and it eventually failed?

I think reason that it's newsworthy is because the class is a homebrew game development class, which I've never really heard of being done before.
Kinda cool really, wish my University had that class. Doesn't matter now though, my job takes care of that...
It's the POST, not the TIMES!

even sadder when it's 6 months when you buy the new drive, and it only took 6 weeks to fill that one up too.

Nice rig. Like the case. Why do you need an extra 500 watt power supply? Did you remove the one that comes with the case?
How are you doing backups?
Isn't the esclade a 64 bit pci card? I don't think the a7n8x supports 64 bit, correct?
