You're looking at the cost of travel and not the cost versus convenience and time saved. Time, after all, is money. If some trains are express and go point to point in 30 minutes and some trains are locals going point to point making 5 stops, averaging 1 minute per each stop, you get a 35 minute trip and I don't see a problem with that.
I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee,
A place where even squares can have a ball
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all.....We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee;
We don't take our trips on LSD
We don't burn our draft cards down on Main Street;
We like livin' right, and bein' free..... With apologies to Merle Haggard
OK, move along, nothing to see here. No more/.ing/.
BTW, matter of conCERN, very witty, but dry, with odors of oak and a bit of tannin. A hint of pear around the edge. Serve chilled.
Why not both. When I was a child, my parents were poor (even if I didn't know it at the time). My moms shopped at the local supermarket which had one of those promos where you get the first volume in a set of encyclopedias free and come back each week and buy the next volume until you have the whole set. It happened to be a Funk and Wagnals by the way, which I'm sure didn't quite measure up to the Encyclopedia Britannica I'm sure. Being 7 and having a love of reading and a thirst for knowledge I devoured each volume, cover to cover for 26 weeks then going back to re-read what I found most interesting, like the gigantic maiframes that were being built (and that we would only need about 10 of). I'm positive that this gave me an incentive to go on to university, and not only that, even though I was a Pharmacy major, I got interested in computers before anyone else even knew what they were or what they were good for.
Pick a state, any state. Now look at it and see if it's per capita income is less than where you live. Now put it back in the deck and shuffle them. I'll be able to tell you which state has the lowest incidence of people who don't go on to university because of ignorance. Not to mention states in the Bible belt with parents telling their kids that god made the world 4000 years ago with dinosaur bones in rocks to fool us. These kids with an OLPC could be getting info from unbiased sources and just might declare bullshit aand learn something.
Testosterone IM injection is an oil based (sometime peanut oil) solution. The reason it hurts (and it is not excruciatingly painful) is that the injection causes a small bollus to form at the injection site. Sort of a little oil bubble in the muscle fibers. The bolus disappears eventually leaving behind a little deep muscle trauma.
Is this guy some kind of Christian Scientist posting flame bait? We were not meant to wear glasses, use hearing aids, use pacemakers, yadda yadda yadda.
Personally, I don't believe in an afterlife. At least not in a Judeo-Christian-Islamic sense. And what if I want to hold on to the advantages of youth as I pass into middle age? If you prick me, do I not bleed?
I have Time Warner and they provide a way to program your favorite channels so they show up first when you search channels. Besides the basic broadcast channels available in my area (CBS NBC FOX AB MY9 CW Public TV) I have a core of about 10 channels that I watch pretty much all the time. I watch some other channels when they have something to catch my interest, but if I were offered a package comprised of the above, at a reduced rate, I'd grab it so fast it would make your head spin. I could even do without the major networks as theeeeir content is available on HULU with a hell of a lot less commercial interuption.
Come and listen to my story about a man named Jed
a poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed. Then one day he was watchin some TV had an idea so he could move to Beverly. Hills that is. Residuals, SyFy made in Hungaria
You should be using Firefox from the getgo. I do and have never had a Hulu problem, except for as mentioned above when sometimes streaming isn't equal to bandwidth and you get a somewhat jerky picture. But, in that case just get you some cable.
I've pretty much stopped using my DVR because of Hulu. I get to watch shows when I want to, can catch up with series I've just discovered and the commercials are much, much shorter than on regular TV.
Being a pharmacist, I see Mr. hackstraw's comments as quite intelligent on the subject, and wonder if he too is a health professional.
On the other hand, I don't think he goes quite far enough. He mentions alcohol and illicit drugs, but something as simple as caffeine can throw off the workings of lithium. Patients taking lithium are cautioned not to drink any caffeine containing beverages, but continue to drink coffee and energy drinks only to find out the side effects of this interaction.

But it really doesn't show much creativity either, n'est pas?
