there are many religions that have no faith aspect to them, also logic, reason, and rational thought are all dictated by an individuals way of thinking(including emotion) and therefor by there beliefs, and so these are not set principles, so simply stating that someone who believes differently than yourself is lacking in these is rather illogical, irrational, and unreasonable regardless of your beliefs.
thats doesn't make any sense, as to my knowledge only the Catholic part of Christianity believes that the the body after death is somehow still connected to the spirit, making the generalisation that all Christians would have a problem with digging up graves simply ignorant.
So why would it matter if the burial site is Christian or no-Christian? Last time I checked one dead body is as dead as another, wouldn't just saying "from a burial site on the Danish island of Funen" be more textualy efficent;)
When you get right down to it, nothing can contradict that a supernatural being exists outside of it's actually appearing to us... at which point it would become a natural being since we could observe it. that doesn't make any sense, your talking about not being able to contradicting the existence of supernatural beings and then give and example of factualising them through the appearance of one which would become supernatural AGAIN the second it became non observable, I think you mean "nothing can VERIFY", because you cant contradict the idea of super natural beings existing because unlike matter there are no laws that we know of that dictate/define if or how intelligences without physical form can or must exist, in fact there aren't even any laws that dictate/define how intelligences WITH physical form can or must exist.
Its not really that Science and religion need each other but rather that science and religion can't exist without the other, you see many sciences within religion and you see many religions within science, basically they are 2 sides of the same coin. The big bang for example, theres "evidence" of its occurrence however without being able to document the last 5 billions years who's to say that the "evidence" did not occur in other ways leading you to the wrong conclusions, which brings faith into the picture, namely the faith that you are correct in your assumption that the big bang did in fact happen, and it happened the way you say it did. The belief in something without definite proof otherwise known as faith is the single defining characteristic of a religion, after all you could just as easily call the Judeo-Christian, Islamic, Hindu, etc beliefs the God or gods theorys.
The bible says that God is compassionate, considering this it is most likely that those who never have the opportunity to believe either go to heaven or some how are reincarnated or something and are given the opportunity to do so, perhaps alternate realities or dimensions to give them the opportunity, after all life is pretty hellish would it not be fitting to return unbelievers into it until they did believe.
obviously this is just speculation, tho it does bring up an interesting array of ideas.
Not necessarily considering God is so multifaceted that apparently just looking upon his true form would kill you as our mind could not handle it(Moses and the burning bush), and on that same note simply because we are made in his image and don't have the ability to change it doesn't mean he is limited to a single form like we are.
actually I meant secretive from people not of the Mormon church, as to my knowledge it is forbidden for people not of the Mormon faith to enter there "holy places". Interesting perspective, however if this were true you would think God would have given revisions during the medieval era and so on instead of waiting 1800 years for the next one, then again it was quite some time before the new testament was introduced after the old, however the time between the old and new testament had far fewer societal changes than those of today I would think.
Interesting I didn't know that, you learn new things every day:P
I'm not really trying to make them look bad as much as I was trying to goad answers.
one of which is. if the Mormons believe the book of Mormon to be a continuation of the bible just as Christians believe that the new testament is a continuation of the old testament, Why would God change his mind so drastically about so many things within the book of Mormon that he specifically said to the contrary in the previous TWO volumes of scriptures, you'd have though he would have made up his mind by the second one.
which pretty much encompasses - starting out as polygamists, women needing men to get to heaven/ascend, becoming a god, being extremely secretive, etc.
You forgot to add that another of there "core beliefs" is that women cannot go to heaven/become a deity themselves without being married to a Mormon man, and since Mormons don't condone homosexuality having your sex changed kinda throws a wrench into there ascension workings.
ware are you getting your info?
Moses didn't start Judaism, nor did God impart special knowledge to him to teach to people. Moses was a Jew, the Jews already believed in God, moses just said he had the backing of God, and would free them from Egyptian enslavement. the old testament, basically the laws of Jewish society was created long before that.
again Jesus did not create Christianity but rather his disciples decedents(I think 3 generations later, after they figured out Jesus second coming was not going to be any time soon and actually started righting down the bible)
I think I heard that he got crystal glasses along with the tablets which allowed him to read them, that and he translated them to a woman from the other side of a barricade of some sort...so the final question is, if there real?....wwwhhhyyy???
The effects of religion have proven time and again to be more than overwhelmingly negative. They're only competition for motivation to reap atrocities on mankind is lust for money. Religion holds no contest for atrocities compared to the acquisition of wealth and power nor does any thing in the history of the world.
I can think of vary few "atrocities" committed by religions because of there religious views, as every other is simply the work of those in power in the religion using the religion as a way to accomplish there nefarious plots.
A good example of this is the Roman Catholic Church as up until about 2 Popes ago almost EVERY Pope either did not believe in God altogether or worshiped wealth above Him, like Pope John XII who had many mistresses and neglected his duties as Pope almost entirely, Pope Benedict IX who was actually banned from Rome for his atrocities, Pope Benedict IX who almost bankrupted Rome, and the list goes on...extensively, which is one of the many reasons Martin Luther separated from the catholic church, and wrote his 95 thesis and proceeded to translate the Bible from Latin into German to take the power out of the hand of the people who had corrupted it, and put it in the hand of the common people so they could learn from it themselves.
I can also think of many similar things in many other religions from Buddhism to Islam's jihads of which I have never head of 1 that was actually waged on behalf of the actual religion(or its beliefs) but rather exclusively for the purposes of gaining wealth, land, power, etc.
Basically the effects of religions themselves are not truly negative but rather have negativity forced upon them by those vile enough to use religions as tools of malevolence.
the only thing about religion that I can think of that is truly "overwhelmingly negative" that actually has to do with religion, is the ability of the believers to believe that those in power within the religion are infallible, and thusly cater to there corruption without suspicion there of.
please forgive my lack of punctuational abilities, and the lack of knowledge to make spaces between my frigging sentences on this site.

Every weapon can be dangerous if misused.
Non lethal weapons are still weapons.

Purgatory is specifically Catholic. the Bible says God is compassionate and thus non baptised children/babies go to heaven.
