    As an Australian, Assange has my full support for his actions. He is not a US citizen and as such cannot be accused of treason.

    It seems you equate resposible disclosure as things that dont embarass the US . News flash,

    if you didnt act the way you do there would be no embarasment.

    I mean you have evidence to prove your claims as to the effects of these leaks right?

    It is absolutley excellent for clothes. It has a soft feel like cotton and the pair of hemp jeans I had lasted more than 5 times longer than normal cotton jeans. They were expensive but the long life made it a bargain.

    I wish I could get more.

    The problem of NIMBY will NEVER go away.

    3 mile Island and Chernobyl will not be forgoten in a hurry. The only people I have come across that support Nuclear are Nuclear scientists, and deluded Slashdot posters, indulging in wishfull
    thinking.

    Personally I don't want one in my backyard, and no ammount of claims of safety (Which were made about the reactors involved in the mentioned events)are going to convince people that the risk is acceptable.

    Learn to live with it and try and come up with a solution that has a chance of happening instead of
    impossible dreams.

    I have to agree, my last laptop was glossy and the current one is not. I certainly prefer the glossy one. I did not find reflections a problem at all.

    Every single time there's an expansion of gun rights they predict that blood will flow in the streets. The fact that it hasn't happened yet does not prevent them from repeating the claim that it will.

    It has happened, it just continues. Thats why your gun murder rate is so high.

    Best thing we ever did in .au was largely getting rid of guns from our society, we dont have the love of violence and revenge which is so obvious form the US gun nuts rantings.

    In .au we removed a lot of the guns from our society and have no regrets.

    Criminals only need to carry guns if they expect to face armed resitance. It's called an arms race and understood by most of the western world as a bad thing.

    Gun ownership is simple overcompensation for other ahemm, inadeqacies.

    Yes absolutely, there are NO circumstances where I would prefer the death penalty. It is something civilised countries dont do. The state should never kill its citizens.

    It is unlikely to happen again as we rewmoved a lot of the high powered automatic weapons from our society then. No one I know owns a gun they are simply not needed here.

    That is really fucked up.

    Here in .au we have campus security and all other matters are handled by the local police force.

    Strewth I'm glad I dont live under the US legal system, with its elected judges, private prisons,
    the death penalty still practiced after all the civilised countries stopped and a jurisdictional nightmare.

    That is exactly my point. Invading without holding long term means not conquered, just occupied!

    Whilst I would like to think we could help Afghanistan to a stable govt, it seems most unlikely. Have you read about the endemic corruption in the current afghan govt? Would you be happy if that was your govt?

    Reality has to be faced, and it seems unlikely that the current afghan govt has a great deal of support.

    Not argument, simple fact and it is easily proved, go read a history book. None of the empires that invaded Afghanistan has held it.

    Recent US history includes Viet Nam does it not?

    I am not in favour of an immediate withdrawl from Afghanistan, but anyone with an ounce of sense knows this is a war that can never be won.

    Which part of the US are you from again?
