    Every single person I know who has a Vista machine wants to dongrade to XP. Must be some strange new meaning of the word "Fine" I haven't previously encountered.

    It may have passed youyr attention, but ,art of a ministers job is to explain their policies to the public.

      You can repeat your mantra "Read the legislation" as many times as you like, but Conroy should be able to explain his own legisaltion to we the Aust public. Most legislation is virtually incomprhensible to the genreal public anyway.

    Islamo terrorism is no more of a threat than any other type of terrorism. Demoizing Islam will not help anything, it will radicalize moderates, exactly what is not needed.

    We beat terrorism by not changing our laws and freedoms, but by proudly holding to them, and saying you cannot influence us with violence.

      As a citizen of another country, I have in the past admired the US. Since Bush has been president, that admiration has reduced considerably. The election of Obama is a step in the right direction.

    I want the US to be the beacon of freedom and liberty it once was.

    The terrorists unfotunately won the day we changed our laws.

    Yeh, I went to a friends place awhile ago for a BBQ.

    Sitting next to his shed was a TV antenna that looked to ne almost new. I asked him what it was for.
      He reluctantly told me he had got a set top box and it didnt work. His daughter asked him if he had a digital antenna. So he went to the antenna company and they happliy sold him a digital antenna.

    When he went to put it up it was EXACTLY the same as he already had.

    They dont, If the wages of such staff were decent there would be no need for tipping. Why should someone get paid for doing their job, for which their employer pays them.

    I have never needed to tip anyone in Australia
    it is virtually unknown.

    I agree, I have always felt fines should be based on a percentage of yearly income rather than a fixed ammount. That way a fine effects all equally.

    Currently a $300 traffic fine is nothing to someone
    on $2K/w but a whole week to someone relying on social security.

    It strikes me that sufficiently advanced programming, and the related maths, ARE art of a kind. (IANAP)

    They all need true talent to succeed.

    I worked as a Live Sound Engineer for many years,
    later I was a tour manager and Judge for Battles of the Bands.
    I saw LOTS of bands! 80% were crap.
    a further 16% were entertaining but not original.

    Of the remaining 4% only a quarter really acheived success (Made any money).

    The crap bands mostly played covers and made some money.

    Hopefully the other members of that 4% these days
    have a much better chance of doing well via the net.

    Why are my line breaks always insane after previewing??

    Hmmm, sure the public loves the current wars so much they threw the govt out.

    The lack of a backlash is most likely due to the media mangement done by the millitary, not allowing filming of body bags for example, and controlling reporters access to the battlefield.

    Turning off life support to smeone who is brain dead is NOT killing. The brain is already dead, and with it everything that makes a human what they are.
