    What system can you come up with (besides flying cars) that can't take advantage of our current highway infrastructure? Light rail/Subway? Solutions like mass transportation need a certain population density to work effectively.

    Isn't a slow charge better for the battery? We might be able to use 3 for an extra charge during the day, but it would probably be a good idea to keep the trickle charge option.

    This kind of improvement, along with better optimized hybrids and other "transitional" technologies effectively allow us to maintain the status quo.

    And we want that...why?

    I'm personally in favor of a gas tax that increments $0.50/gallon every 18 months or so.

    I don't see why government needs to have any say in the matter, anyways. Leave religious ceremonies to religion. Drop all government-related involvement in the matter (tax filings, etc).

    Noone is demanding it be put in. Rather, it is being perceived as being forced out and people are making noise about that.

    I find that particular debate by my brethren to ring rather hollow. Too often seems to be used to justify forcing moral standards on non-believers.

    "Praise Allah" and "Praise God" mean the same thing and they reference the SAME GOD.

    Tell that to the Hindus. Or Buddhists. Or Pagans.

    Try telling it to most Christians. I get a lot of flak from my family over this.

    I concur. Forcing the public to abide by our (OK, this is Catholicism we're talking about: their) preferred religious behavior does nothing but alienate the public.

    Well a lot of the stuff we worry about is roughly in the same disc as the planet...

    True, but the size of their orbits makes it seem like playing foosball with two (weakly) magnetized needles for goalies and a bunch of iron fillings as the ball.

    Compared to their orbits, and their orbits are on the same plane, more or less.
