Why would I deliberately choose an OS that was different than my other OS, especially if I were to be transferring documents and presentations I wrote on the airplane back to my main computer?
Maybe they are only putting Linux on completely new systems, and old systems are getting OpenOffice when they need to be serviced. My work computer is at least 6 years old. It might get replaced next month with the new fiscal year.
And even then, if you're typing fast enough or the keys are close enough together you won't be able to guess the password by watching the keyboard. Hell, I'm sitting right in front of the keyboard and I still can't look through my hands to see which keys my fingertips are actually pressing.
...no input is recorded in anyway on the screen. Now that's a usability nightmare when you can't even backspace to correct your errors.
Yes you can. And I don't just mean "hit backspace more often that you have characters in your password".
You know you need a new password when you can correct a typo without screen output.

Not that you should abandon Yahoo Mail just because you can... I'm just saying them having your email archive is little deterrent.
I don't think I'd recommend Firefox on a computer with those specs--it wouldn't work particularly well.
My work machine disagrees with you.

In what ways did the Bush administration cover for them?
I think, it would be dishonest to conceal one's hostility toward Microsoft, pretending to be "neutral" while you are not.
I see it more as:
The author should make an attempt to actually be neutral. Using 'M$' shows a lack of effort towards that end.
It also helps that they can't make profits off of anything but the age old product that is Windows.
I am under the impression that their OS profits are relatively meager compared to what they make from Office.

OpenOffice's slideshow app is Impress.
