What's frightening about this, though, is that other Western governments are probably using this as a test case to determine the efficacy of such censorship (and whether public opinion will effectively bend over and take it).
Seeing how this whole thing is collapsing at this point, I hope the other governments are watching very closely.
You assume they are using FAT32. FAT16 supports up to 2 GB. Surely they can stuff the kernel and maps into that while still having enough room for marking favorite locations?
Does FAT32 have other advantages over FAT16?
After using Linux for 2 years, can still count all the other Linux users I have met face-to-face on one hand (OK, OK: in binary. But that's only because I might have met 6). Finding Apple users is much easier.
I don't want Windows to die. I just want Microsoft to be in a position where they have to fight fair because they don't have the influence to rig the entire market.
They don't seem very capable of adapting, and adapting is the only way for them to not die without being able to rig the market.
...they are going to require some pretty stringent requirements on release planning and QA.
Uhhh... When was the last time you touched an OEM machine fresh out of the box? One with all the little wizards, utilities, and other goodies not yet uninstalled?
Nethack?
They are certified physicians performing a legal, albeit controversial, practice.
Would murder be perfectly acceptable if it were legal? Because that is the crux of the issue: Is abortion murder?
Gasoline vs. Napalm vs. Alcohol?

Read it again. It was an anti-abortion website.
IRC != IRL
I'm still at a loss to understand why FAT and ASCII still persist in modern society.
FAT is still useful for flash drives. ASCII takes up so little space and effort to implement, why not?
I thought it was an odd way to phrase it, but the word choice still works.
"Vehicle Computer System with Wireless Connectivity"
Depending on how loosely you can define "computer" and "wireless", this might cover CD radios, airborne (or at least vehicle-based) radar, etc.
What really bugs me is that MS never even made an in-car mapping device to my knowledge, or any kind of in-car computer...
They have talked about it.
The only issue there is getting it to be supported on Windows.
Well, they do hand out driver/"value added" software CDs like they were AOL.

Or do you ask everyone you walk by if they use Linux?
Walk? That's when you use your feet to drag you and your chair across the floor rather than pushing off against a wall or furniture, right?

Update NY are relatively good drivers.
New York has a Service Pack?

They also rebranded Firefox 3 as "Web Browser"
Here's a tip if you use Ubuntu:
sudo apt-get install abrowser.
Linux's major flaws...
Heathen!
Of course. Long live nano!
USB 2.0 (or even 1.1) is much faster than most Internet connections I encounter.
Comparing it to IE7 is a little bit like Ford comparing their new car to a horse and cart.
Hey, a horse and cart can be faster than a Ford Mustang in an off-road race.
No, I don't think so.
