So according to Matt (RIAA), we can all record songs off the radio to cassette and from cassette to mp3's and it will be legal and then the RIAA will go back to their hole and leave us alone? So then it boils down to a matter of quality? Or are they concerned with the conveinence (a lot easier to rip cd than go radio to cassette to mp3)? Their (RIAA) rational is about as screwed up as a soup sandwich.
What happens to the $12,000? Do they divide it up between every recording artist? What would that be a couple of pennies, if that? I'm pretty sure that won't happen. I'd say there is a bigger chance of someone getting a bonus or a trip to Hawaii from the $$$. RIAA's theory of music sells down because of file swapping is about as screwed up as a soup sandwich and a football bat....
you could see how much dust the fans actually suck in? Firgure out the amount of time it takes a dust bunny to form? Observe housing structures and construction techniques for the local spider population? Throw perfectly good beer money away buying lights, blinking fans, etc? See what color of smoke actually comes out of the cpu from overclocking? Gain a little EMR? Buying a PERL book would be way more useful and beneficial.....just my 2 cents..
should be the ability of playing online without any additional cost. IMO it should be left for the makers of the game to charge so they can keep making great games we all love to play. How much of the M$ XBOX tax do game makers receive? That's why I've never gotten an XBOX, because I can play Madden 2003, Tony Hawk 4 online on the PS2 for free.
I emailed frontierlabs and they said the firmware for ogg would be added to their website soon for the nexII (model). It'll take CF and IBM microdrives for about $115 USD.
From the article: "How do you know each of these copyrighted materials is illegal? That's the big issue here," said Urs Gattiker, a professor of technology and innovation management at Aalborg University in Denmark.
Did they go to each of the people they billed and MAKE SURE they didn't own the material they are accused of downloading? Or was it the ole "Well he's downloading stuff off Kazaa/eDonkey he's got to be doing it illegally" assumption? I'm not for it (piracy), but the RIAA/MPAA, & other agencies, should quit whining about it and quit trying to stop it (it ain't going to happen).
What did Harry Potter make it's first weekend? $87.7 million? What about Eminem's new cd, 8 mile? Sold like 1 millon copies first week and still going strong? Didn't both of these items SET records? Yea, try to say P2P is hurting the industry. The RIAA/MPAA slit their own throats and continue to do so with outrageous prices for cd's and movies.
I've been working in the general public (pc home repair, commercial, government, education, etc) for the last 10 or so years, the last 2 years have been the worst for HDD failures. I used WD for a long time until about a year ago they started dying left and right. IBM is the worst next to Quantum, I've had about 8 (40GB 7200RPM) go in the last 4 months. Lost a few Maxtors recently, including my data drive (thank goodness for backups). I've had little problems with Fujitsu. All cases have been well ventilated with 1-2 case fans (plus PS fan). I think it has something to do with the spin rate. I haven't had ANY dead 5400RPM HDD. Some were sold ~4 years ago. 5400RPM and SCSI seem to be the only reliable drives out there. Hopefully something will change with Serial ATA.
As far as I'm concerned from a money/capital stand point, since I'm a stock owner, I wish they were the MS of linux, however since I love open source so much I'm happy they are NOTHING like MS. I've tried many distros, I keep coming back to RH. Good job guys.
Good ole, trustworthy, reliable, secure, best OS, Winblows.....how can it still remain on 90%+ of PC's? That should be on unsolved mysteries.....
No, the most common reply we get is my password is ***** along with I forgot.
from a source at Intel.....
you will see PCI-X replace AGP on our boards in the near future....

Why kill it? It costs OEM a whole $5 (US) to add a floppy, why drop it? I doubt $5-$10 will be the determining factor for the majority of people.
