  1. Re:freedom? on Pentagon Developed 'Laughing Bullets' · · Score: 1

I'd rather the corporate globalists weren't jacking us and the U.S. had remained a small limited republic as intended by the founding fathers so going out in the street wasn't necessary in the first place. You think they are going to listen to the voters? Hah, voting in a Dem Congress last year accomplished a boatload of nothing.

  3. Violation of Posse Comitatus on National ID May Have Killed Immigration Bill · · Score: 1

Using the military to enforce the countries laws is a blatant violation of the Posse Comitatus act.

"The whole text of the relevant legislation is as follows:

Sec. 1385. - Use of Army and Air Force as posse comitatus

"Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both"."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posse_Comitatus_Act

Instead of "native"working people and immigrants fighting we should unite against the corporations who use our fighting and the threat of off shoring to drive wages ever farther down to the point that probably 30% of jobs in the U.S. don't pay a living wage no matter where you are from. THINK people before you react.

  4. Old fart here, this sucks on Videogame Spending May Soon Outweigh Music Spending Globally · · Score: 1

I do truly think this is sad news. The same old fantasy/war adventures set in canned worlds are not as liberating for the human soul as unique music is, whether it be Beethoven, Public Enemy, or Bjork. Well done music is a window into a unique world view, what do I know about the creators of WOW or Doom 4 after playing? Answer is nothing. And no this isn't a Luddite rant I think the internet has brought many positive advancements to humanity, I really like my 20 inch widescreen lcd, ipod, digital camera, advancements in medicine, etc. Video games on the whole however do not IMO help advance humanity. Note that I don't think they should be banned or regulated just ignored like the overly hyped iPhone ought to be ignored.

Feel free to flame away BTW my karma can take a few hits now and then and survive quite nicely. :) Yep old fart over 40 here, deal.

First off U.S. citizen here so lets get that right out of the way.

Now for the substantive business it's all well and good to mouth platitudes like the U.S. isn't evil but here is the actual history:

Time line of CIA interventions: http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/CIAtimeline.html

Time line of U.S. military interventions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States _military_history_events

We have been interfering with some other governments business just about EVERY single year since the U.S.founded, that is why "they" hate us. Note that this is entirely against the founding principles of the American republic which were isolationist in nature. Try reading A People History of the U.S. by Howard Zinn and Gore Vidal's perpetual War for Perpetual Peace to see just how "good" we are. Good at propaganda which an American Edward Bernays (Freud's nephew) invented that is...

  24. Re:Macs for artists on Apple Sued Over 'Lacking' Macbook Display · · Score: 1

You are talking out of your ass, I just dealt with this problem with an HP Wide screen monitor that used a poor dithering algorithm it created severe and obvious banding problems where there were any subtle color transition to the point where is it was impossible to edit my photos and I had to return it.

Cheap TN film LCD screens that display 6 bits of color information per RGB channel are not adequate for graphic design work. If you don't believe me go to a big box store and look at a photo on a cheap LCD screen, then look at background out of focus areas, the cheap screens with bad dithering WILL have bands that make it impossible to see detail, they will also have over saturated colors, and blown out highlights. That may be find for an 3lite gaming 13 year old who also loves a giant sub woofer, but it's not even in the ball park for professional design work. I'd be pissed if I paid over a thousand bucks for a MacBook and it had obvious dithering patterns.

And I am typing on a dual G5 tower here so not hating on Apple in general but in this case they failed and badly.
