  1. "'Do Not Track,' the Privacy Tool Used By Millions of People, Doesn't Do Anything"

Is "tracking" one of the things it doesn't do? Because that's good. Otherwise it does do something. And that's bad.

  2. Show me the chip!

  3. This article implies that China has the technology to implant tiny microchips during the manufacturing process. If China can do this then the NSA certainly can. And if the NSA can do it, then they are doing it already. There is a bigger story here than mere China bashing.

  4. Maybe this is a good thing? Maybe it will accelerate the development of open source networking, grid networks, smaller wireless ISPs. What little control the government has, they will lose. They want a free market, give them a free market.

  5. Re:The Guardian on Ask Slashdot: What Online News Is Worth Paying For? · · Score: 5, Insightful

Agreed. They are the only mainstream media to support Edward Snowden and are withstanding a fierce backlash from the UK government. If we cannot fight for our freedom then we should at least support those that do.

  6. Re:Who watches the watchers? on Snowden's Big Truth: We Are All Less Free · · Score: 1

How can the voters watch congress when congress is hiding things from them? In order for voters to make an informed decision, they need to know the facts.

Now Snowden has given us the facts - the fact that the US government is spying on its own citizens. Its now up to said citizens to make this legal or illegal through their votes and protests.

Also - the NSA is only a cog of a much bigger machine called Echelon.

  7. Why the Secrecy? on Majority of Americans Say NSA Phone Tracking Is OK To Fight Terrorism · · Score: 1

Why are the government being so secretive? If they want to spy on everyone for the (supposed) benefit of the nation, then just say so. After all, "if you have nothing to fear, you have nothing to hide." Isnt that what they keep telling us?

  8. Nature has prior art on The Patents That Threaten 3-D Printing · · Score: 2

Can you patent a natural process? Swifts have been 3D printing for millennia (birds nest (soup)). Ditto Snails (shells), Bees (hives). Prior Art is all around us.

  9. Goog.gl on Microsoft Blocking Pirate Bay Links In Messenger · · Score: 2

I guess Microsoft has never heard of goo.gl

  10. Re:Iran vs US on Iran Blamed For Major Cyberattack On BBC · · Score: 1

Absurd? Insane? I think not. Facts speak for themselves. The US killed 2 million in Vietnam, 2 million in the Korean war. Another million in the 2 wars in the gulf. And I'll leave you to count the innumerable casualties in the so many other wars the Americans have fought, and continue fighting. To even say that "America wasnt as bad as Pol Pot" is saying something for a nation that pretends to be the champion of human rights. You can look up Wikipedia for the references: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_War_casualties http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_War

  11. West cutting its nose to spite its face on Iran Deleted From the World's Banking Computers · · Score: 5, Interesting

The SWIFT system was constructed by the west to manage bank transfers. You can be sure that Iran will alternatives to it - just as Iran has found alternatives to every other sanction the US has imposed ove more that 30 years. So what the west is actually doing is facilitating the deconstruction of a once universal system, and facilitating the construction of an alternative that the west does not control.

  12. We do things better than China and Iran on UK Government To Demand Data On Every Call, Email, and Tweet · · Score: 1

Do China and Iran have this much control?

  13. What happened to the Free Market? on Sony Raises Price of Whitney Houston's Music 30 Minutes After Death · · Score: 1

Supply and Demand? Embrace the Free Market? Isnt this type of capitalism the reason Americans live and die (and kill others) for? So why blame Sony for being a good learner, and playing the game?

  14. Re:In SOVIET RUSSIA... on Twitter Developing Technology To Thwart Censorship · · Score: 1

A poll of Americans think that Fox News is reliable. It would be hilarious if not so tragic.

  15. Blackmailing a nation? on Evidence Weakens That China Did the Recent Cyberattacks · · Score: 1

I use Google and I like Google. But no company should be able or allowed to blackmail a country. Google has only been in China for 4 years - and if they dont like it than bai-bai.

  16. So now we have to pay for propaganda ? on Murdoch Says, "We'll Charge For All Our Sites" · · Score: 1

So he wants us to pay for propaganda? If Murdoch starts charging for content, its a good thing. Most readers will start reading alternate "news" and get a more balanced view of whats going on.
