I played that game so much that my cards started to fall apart. My favorite variation by far was the *cheating* version. I once won during a long full out cheating game by (I was the Gnomes of Zurich) declaring "Oh look how much money I have! I just won the game!"
Heh, no one botherd to count the money, I was 50 megabucks short....:)
I think its quite possible that Corel simply modified their original beta testing form letter to read "Corel Linux" instead of "Product X", and forgot about the GPL.
Forgetting about the GPL is not a good thing.
I am willing to give them some grace on this, provided that they get their layers to re-draft the beta testing appliction to accomodate the GPL, and re-release the agreement.
Well, I suppose the root password could be randomly assigned and kept hidden. How to become root then? LILO: linux single (Good Idea? If not please berate my suggestion..:) After all, if the box is single user and one is worried about attacks coming over the network as opposed to the box itself, this would work.

Personally I think your points are all valid. I have to do tech support for windows all day, I don't use windows because its the OS that I have to support all day. When I come home, I don't want to see WORK on my computer.
I am often asked about Linux because I use it, and many of our customers are very interested in switching (mostly because of the "I hate Microsoft" and not because "Linux is better" - although, to define "better" I admit requires a more subjective description which I think you know enough about already.)
I freely admit that I dislike windows, but the thing that is currently keeping more people away from Linux is that it is different from Windows, and yes, more difficult to use (for now). Companies such as Red Hat (and others!) are fixing this, and yet certain members of the Linux community hear about this and immediatly scream "Red $hite SuX0Rs!" Well, we still have some way to go I guess.
I am not going to specifically respond to any of your points however, because they are valid. If YOU dislike the tarball/RPM conflicts for example, you are certanly entitled to. But Linux is always improving. I am patient. I just hope to be here to welcome you when we get these things fixed, so we can have our beers and relax.
According to O'Reilly's ultimate palm pilot guide the capacitor will actually give you about 11 min of charge while you are replacing the batteries. Nice to see that palm was really conservative about the specs on the capacitor though!
The trial is hurting Microsoft badly. I'm actually suprised that they did not settle before. It's not a question of whether they win or lose really. It's the damage that is done to them while the trial continues. Microsoft can't really bully any vendors while the trial continues.
Personally I would like to see the trial drag on for another year or two.
(And now that Microsoft has its own dictionary, one wonders if the word "ask" will be in there...)
Damn good post IMO. If I had moderator status I would moderate you up a notch.
I was about to start responding to posts with "the baloney detection kit" myself.

If Corel is smart, they will do this FAST.

Well said.
Especially your last line.
I feel pretty honoured as I logged on to his server and played him one on one.
I did not get a frag. Not one.
But on the bright side, I did not finish in the negatives!
