indeed. NGO's by and large do more harm than good. There was a good documentary about this called "Poverty, Inc." https://www.povertyinc.org/
Watching it was very enlightening for me. I originally thought the main harm was in destroying cultures and putting in the judeo-christian god instead of the local one(s).

  13. This is just an illustration of how trickle down economics is utter bullshit. Of course the past 30 years of economic stagnation for the formerly middle class in the USA has also clearly demonstrated that fact. Trickle down is a front for wealth concentration at the top and extraction from the bottom. The repugnant tax cut the repugnicans are currently attempting to cram through congress is the latest escalation in the economic slaughter being visited upon us by the 1%.

I think the problem is that the message is too far from the idealized world that diversity officers want to create. It's like taking a firehose to their shiny fancysports car only to reveal that it is covering a muddy shitty old pick-up truck. Ain't nobody got time for that.

  18. The difference is that everyone is covered. That matters for the stability and general well-being of society. The less desperate people out there, the safer we all are and the better the karma all-around. Yes it will work even in a society that is not homogeneous, provided we see each other as fellow humans on a relatively short stint on the planet.
