I have OpenBSD running on a dual ppro 200 mhz with 96 gb ram and a quantum fireball(!) drive. The drive actually impresses me most as it's 20 years old.
The system is running sshd and irssi, and I've even compiled the kernel and some userland updates a few times. There might be some compile errors if you disable things like ACPI, however it is easy to fix with a few variable guards in the kernel.
Not tried X yet though, but I could see if it could drive my pci matrox mga g550 card.
This is purely anecdotal, however I usually play games in Linux, but several months in the row I get the survey just as I reboot into windows to play some windows only game.
It would be much better if it reported OS as "hours played", not just the OS that happens to run when the survey hits.
Not sure how, at least for arch linux, pacman -S nvidia nvidia-libgl is a pain in the ass. I suspect it's about as simple as this for most other distributions.
This is actually the main reason for me buying nvidia cards, they "just work" in linux and provide stellar performance.
My Miele combo washing machine from our apartment days just broke down. Good thing we have 5 years off warranty mandated by law in Norway. They tried to fix it twice, now they have to replace it and they are actually replacing it (on our request) with a separate washer and a dryer.
But 4 years is a far cry from the "20 years of operation" promised in the commercial.
User asked for a feature then get flamed for wanting the feature. Nobody should want features not in Apple software.. Until Apple puts in the feature, then it's the greatest since sliced bread.
i7 4770K, 16 gb ram, gtx 670, 3x ssd, 3x spinning rust platters, DVD-RW drive, 24" dell screen (very old model but excellent). It's for games and programming. 2 of the ssds are for windows only games and the last is for arch linux where i spend most of the time. The rust platters are hardly in use anymore as most of my stuff is on a synology box.
I have to say, I never hard of these sites either. Thank The Publishers Association for the tip:)
Nah I'll still buy my stuff.. But I wonder how something like this can progress as far as to court without someone telling the execs how futile it is to block websites.
I can't remember breaking any of my arch installations for the past few years. Just make sure to pay attention to the announce list or have the arch linux news rss in your aggregator of choice. arch-announce
And yes, it is awesome I use it on my home computers and the development workstation at work.
The Greeks have done nothing but cook the books and lie to get into EU, get loans to spend on handouts and now they blame everyone but themselves. The public in Greece voted for every single one of these crooks and are to blame. I think the best course of action is to toss them out, they were never fit to be in. They even hid public debt in their train company to pass EU requirements all to be able to borrow cheap with no intention of paying back.
Sorry, I don't want to pay for the Greeks early retirements.
These posts are not for users of G+ that know how it actually works, but they are so that the ones that didn't sign up for G+ can feel snug about not missing out. When in fact they miss out on the (for me) best place to get in contact with like-minded and not friends from high-school that I don't want.
I post to G+ a few times a day but I can't even remember last time I posted publicly.
Whatever you do, don't go mssql as you will end up processing most of your data in the analytics tool. I've seen it lock tables even on only reads causing other processes to be terminated. The closest it has got to materialized views are clustered indexed views which suck and can barely do any processing.

Chase customers may write checks to BoA customers. BoA customers also write checks to Chase (and so on).
OT: Does people in the US actually use checks still? I haven't seen one since the late 80s here in northern Europe.
I guess the privacy laws are much more lax in Canada.
Here in Norway you can't even say publicly who is a customer.
Darktable and Kdenlive.
I use both quite a lot and there are no builds of them for windows.
I'm actually using it every day both for family (I got them all there) and special interests of mine.
99% of the stuff is privately shared though so I guess it looks dead from the outside (and non searchable).
the proprietary driver is a pain in the a**

The Source engine is using OpenGL on Linux and has absolutely nothing to do with DirectX
I agree with this sentiment.
I will also add that the select widget of gtk and the file selection "widget" are the biggest turnoff of any software I have ever used.
That said, whenever friends or family want me to install linux, they get gnome 3.
Less things to screw up.
It's not how it's supposed to be for those who want to organise by directories.
You know, people are different.
That's the Apple way.

My boss (who looks not too different from me) can unlock my phone with his face.
Using it for banking seems insane

No linux support + the facebook deal is one reason i will _never_ touch this piece of hardware.
Actually, both of these reasons would be grounds enough alone to not get close.
I can't see any problem with that.
Just read a few reviews before buying to make sure you get a device that is properly designed.

On the web page they claim to support open source etc, but their product is apparently closed source as much as possible.
They have opened the kernel and two apps, the rest is closed down.

So you got to trust them to not be a NSA honey-pot or something else.
I think not.

You have 20 seconds to comply...
10 seconds to comply..
5 seconds to comply...
This game is not vaporware, the money is to bring it to alpha.
The devs were streaming ingame last weekend with a few other players showing stuff.
The developerrs also match all the money from the kickstarter themself up to $50000.

That's more than some small countries national budgets..
How is that even even possible?
You could buy 80 million $1000 computers for that amount!
Sorry for not being completely OT, but that's insane..
