I'll never forget the first time I played Carrier Command on the Amiga.

Why is it hard to believe, there IS alot of stuff out there.

I have been dl/ing pr0n for at least 7 years. Going back to when I had a 28.8 modem. And in all of that time I have amassed 11 GB of porn.

Now, I suppose if you have programs constantly running sucking down (no pun intended) every image you can from alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.* then, sure you could get that much porno. It has taken me 7 years to locate, download, catalog, sort, and store 11 GB of porno.

  11. Bad example on Microsoft's Search Engine Plans · · Score: 2, Insightful

For instance, how about if I wanted to search for "my wedding photos?" Neither X1, nor Windows XP's built in search would find your wedding photos. Why? Because they have useless names like DSC0001.jpg and there's no metadata that says they are wedding photos.

You know the date of your wedding right? If not, don't let your wife find out. You can search for jpegs taken on a certain date.

    As you previously said...

When I take pictures off of my Nikon, they have some metadata (for instance, inside the file is the date it was taken, along with the exposure information)

It isn't exactly rocket surgery. :)

I have over 11 GB of pr0n on my hd right now, I never paid a cent for any of it.

I have over 4 GB of music on my HD righ now, I bought most of the CDs that it came from.

IMO it's also far more likely for people to buy music than pr0n. Someone could be in the mall and happen to see an old CD from an artist that they like and pick it up.

Nobody is going to see ideepthroat.com's greatest hits on the rack at Best Buy and impulse buy a copy.

Besides, the pr0n industry has already mastered online content distribution. The music industry has a LOOOOOOONG way to go.

Man.. I don't know where to start... maybe I should change my crapped pants first...

Maybe you should start by reading a book.

Being religious and being a scientist are not mutually exclusive. One thing that I find ironic is that Charles Darwin was an ordained minister in the Church of England.

A large number of scientists are highly religious. What do you think the odds are that the Scientists who developed Pakistan's nuclear weapons are Muslims? Very high. Who else would work for an Islamic Fundamentalist government?

Some academics even think that the likelyhood of someone being religious increases as that person gains knowledge about the scientific world. The more people understand about the complexity of the world, the less likely they are to believe that it all happened by chance.

Why should I care who's watching me if I have nothing to hide?

I guess that you must have 100% faith in the integrity of your local police. I do not.

I have been threatened by police. I was told by officer Chuck Hartman of the North Versailles PA Police Department that he didn't care if I did anything wrong or not, there was "a book 'this thick'" and he'd find something in it to nail me on. The last thing in the world that I would want is to give him the ability to track my movements so that he could "nail" me if I happened to drive by some place where a murder/rape/drug deal had recently happened.

And aren't cameras just an extension of any authority watching me?

Yes they are, and IMO an unreasonable one. I'm glad I'm not in England.

Giving police the right to beat confessions out of suspects is just an extension of their duties to investigation, right?
