Magma, however, results when rock is pushed up into the crust from the mantle - the decrease in pressure lowers the melting temperature. It can also be generated when water seeps into hot rocks - wet rock has a lower melting temperature. It is NOT evidence that the mantle itself is liquid.

I was with you right up to this point. The presence of water reducing the melting point makes no sense to me. Wouldn't water absorb heat and boil away? So what I'm getting at is this, unless the presence of water reduces the melting point of rock to less than 212F it wouldn't make a difference. If the melting point of the rock in question is above 212F, then all of the water would boil away, leaving dry rock behind.

I realize that we're not talking about a ladel full of hot rock in a furnace somewhere, we're takling about miles below the surface of the earth where the pressures involved are more than most people can comprehend, but if there is a path for liquid water to get in, there would be a path for hot water vapor to exit. Right?

How is it inferior? Just because there's no bouncing boobs and blood doesn't mean that the gameplay suffers because of the lack thereof. So far, that's the primary gripe I've heard you express, is the lack of breasts, and no blood being shed.

Perhaps I'm not being clear enough about the distinction between symptom and problem. The lack of bouncing breasts and blood are the symptoms. The problem is the game publisher's unwillingness to port the game in its entirity to english for the US market.

Remember Final Fight for the SNES? It was missing Guy. One of the three playable characters was missing. I refused to buy that game too. There were enough likeminded people and the publisher released "Final Fight:Guy". That's what should happen here.

Not only do we believe that it would be like taking fruit from a poisoned tree, it would undermine our efforts against abortion on demand. That $10/gallon figure was meant as an added cost on top of the actual cost(including delivery and the chemicals required for long term storage) of the fuel. I'm just making an educated guess here, but with the cost of transporting it and the stabilizers required for long term petrol based fuel storage I'd estimate the actual cost per gallon to be in the neighborhood of $30 US/Gallon. So in my estimation, $30 (cost) + $10 (stupidity tax)/gallon times 104 gallons comes to over $4100 US.

They are not legally obligated to provide protection to you or anyone else, on the few occasions when people tried to sue the police for not protecting them, the courts have said so.

I used to work for a law firm. I've been to every major courthouse in my city (Cleveland) and many in the suburbs too. Maybe it's just a Cleveland thing, but there are no dark stairwells (not many elevators either, but that's a different story) and you can't walk from one end of a hallway to the other without spotting a cop. So I think, that because you have so many police officers in a courthouse, that one doesn't really need a gun and perhaps that went into the law. Maybe not. I didn't write the law.

You've obviously never been to the county courthouse in Pittsburgh. (Where I live) I have been in several dark stairwells. I have seen entire floors in the courthouse that have no police at all.

If we prevented everyone from doing things because they might do something illegal, we'ld have very few freedoms left.

We're not talking about putting computer controlled fuel restrictions on cars because people *might* speed. We're talking about making it illegal to take a video camera into a movie theater. There is a huge difference.

Imagine "no talking on cell phone while driving" going to "no cell phones in cars." Really think about that for a second.

BS. Automobiles are a necessity in most cities, and though I think the "no talking on cell phone while driving" laws are, I have noticed that a large number of careless drivers that I encounter are yacking away on a cell phone when they change lanes in front of me without signalling. It would be better to have the police cite them for careless driving than to restrict the rest of us.

Even so, Apples are not Oranges. There is no compelling reason why you need to have a video camera in a movie theater. I'd prefer to see this take place through a change in theater policy, you can still be arrested for tresspassing if you bring a camera against the owner's permission.
