By "RedHat powered", do they mean it's REALLY powered by RedHat? Does it burn RH CDs anything like a coal burning stove? How much power does RH have? Is it like a battery? Could I use RH CDs to, say, power my portable radio? Or even my car?
There's a new scanner out from Hewlitt-Packard callel the DigiScanner 9100C. Not only will it scan documents to either PDF or TIFF, it'll email 'em too. And, no, I don't work for HP.
Ok. This is strange. The FIRST post was moderated as "Troll". The SECOND post, complaining about the moderation of the FIRST post, is moderated to "Off Topic". I'm afraid the/. moderators have gotten into Granpa's moonshine stash again. Or perhaps they just scored a really nice big, fat bag of crack.
hmmm...taking a screenshot of the desktop isn't that hard. You can even do it in VB . And yes, you can do it under Win95/98 (not sure about NT...don't have much experience with it).
This book made me change my sig. Damnit. Personally, I don't like my words being published without my knowledge or my consent. Not that I actually had any posts on any of the Hellmouth articles (I didn't), but not having control over my words really bothers me. Ya see, when I post on/., I'm posting on/., not writing copy for someone else's book.
Hmmm...'arrogant'? Oh well...the government has always been a bit slow to catch up with the technology curve. Give 'em a few years (and perhaps a new librarian) and I think we'll see that opinion change. It's also entirely possible that the LOC can't get the funding for such a project. Can you imagine the amount of $$ that putting ALL of the books in the LOC online? would cost? Even if you only did the copyright-expired books, that would still cost some major funds...
For once, it seems that Microsoft is doing something good for the public at large...I suppose you could subtract a couple of points for the Javascript-induced Netscape crashes on their website, but, over all, I think this is a pretty cool thing. Kudos!
What we REALLY need right now is some REAL intelligence. I mean, sure, it's nice to have "intelligent" machines, but what good does that do when a good size of the population are utter and complete morons? Let's concentrates on making the PEOPLE smarter, then worry about the machines.
Experiment on this.
The news is dead! Long live the Daily Show!
Yeah, bitches.
...Sony's got the sandpaper/no-lube loving you need.
He deserves it.
Wow...is this a frist psot? I'm not sure. Could be...

Don't use my name, jerknutz. Frank Rizzo sez shut the fuck up.

I may, however, be the Carpenter. Or at least one of the Carpenters. I want to be Karen.
