  1. The Thin Digital Line on AP Suspends DoD Over Altered US Army Photo · · Score: 1

This happened quite recently with Kim Jong Il as well http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/asia/article5101905.ece although his was slightly more of a faked photo than just altering the background and touching up her skin. I personally dont have an objection to the photo of General Ann Dunwoody, It is a much better image to have in the press than the original one, but if we do allow it where do we draw the mark so as to have a completely faked photo like the one of Kim Jong Il. Perhaps we need Team America to sort out this issue!

good idea but can you imagine an Idiot Savant trying to answer this. Just like in Rain Man:

    Dr: Whats 4,343 times 1,234?
    Dustin Hoffman: 5359262

Dr: If you had a dollar, and you spent fifty cents, how much money would you have left?
    DH: (pause) About seventy.
    Dr: Seventy cents?
    DH: Yeah.

Its got to try and be as accomodating for all sorts of people, as revenue lost by excluding a minority is revenue gained by your competitors. Yes, you could say that dealing with spam may cost more than the potential revnue that your missing out on but then again a study to work this out is probably going to cost a fair bit as well!

I think the best solution I've heard about so far is the solution of having a "Leave this blank" textbox hidden. If its hidden you can also start with playing around with the text every x amount of days and hours to catch any bots that realise what "Leave this blank" refers to. This would need a lot of testing to make sure it stays invisible on all browsers but with a correctly formatted page it should be ok.

My only concern would be the noise level from all of the components. I suppose it wouldn't matter if I had "quiet" devices. Overall pretty cool looking case.

RTFA "Above, the huge 250mm fan is controlled by a three-speed switch, and is extremely quiet at the lowest setting.". Sounds OK to me as long as you don't need a hell of a lot of cooling doing. And yer i agree, amazing looking case.

The artcle states it uses renewable energy to create the electricity to power the electrolysis of the water. Therefore there are no byproducts at that end and oxygen is the only byproduct in the electrolysis, but as this can also be sold I wouldn't say its a by product. As for the combustion of Hydrogen in the engine, it is combusted in oxygen which forms everyones favourite molecule H2O. It is pretty much the cleanest form of power generation there is.

No, I haven't and doubt many others have either, and as much as that information will help me sleep better at night knowing all those people could crap hygienically I think next time you watch a film you should maybe not analyse every detail to extremes. Next you will be telling us that Brian wasn't the messiah just a very naughty boy.

you can still be a business man and an elite athlete rugby union was only made professional 13 years ago before then people had to work a 9-5 and compete in the sport as well. This is still the same for many sports who aren't international standard but are bordering on the elite spectrum.

-Xoltri -- that was sort of my point, there are in fact different types of BMI and the most common is the one you have stated, there are also other BMI tests which include skin fold measurements using body calipers and other tests which give a result compared to actual body fat, done using electrodes. I myself am classed as obese (also a Rugby Player) on the BMI scale you give as I am only 5ft 10 and weigh nearly 95kg which is mostly muscle mass with a bit of a beer belly but in cardiovascular terms i am fitter than a lot of people who are in the overweight range. And to the anonymous coward, he has a particularly large cock but your mum might know the figures slightly more in depth than I.

  11. Athletes??? on Japan Imposes "Fine On Fat" · · Score: 5, Interesting

Surely that counts out virtually most athletes in sports such as Weightlifting, Rugby Union, Shotput, Discus and many many more sports in which the atheletes are likely to be semi pro and have to have a 9 - 5 to help support themselves financially. Let alone Sumo Wrestling which is what football is to us Brits! Thats real football by the way to all you yanks :-p. You can be very healthy and very muscular and have a waist well above 33.5, I know a guy whose a semi professional Rugby Union player who has a 42 inch waist and a 55 inch chest, and is fitter than 99% of people on the street! It should be done on proper BMI (Body Mass Index), not including just height and weight as most do, but a real BMI includes skin fold measurements and takes into account percentage body fat and needs to be carried out by a qualified professional for the results to be accurate. If your gonna introduce a law which has monetary fines attatched to it at least make it fair!
