I would imagine that when this comes out, people who are adverse to the protections/annoyances will just ensure they encode or download their videos with different codecs.
One can only hope that a system like this would cause many more problems for broadcasters when a frame is dropped or corrupted and customers start missing legal content from their glitch induced "illegal stream".
