Actually, the current case isn't against Tele2, but DMT2 (who I've never heard of). I think that the reason that IFPI have gone for DMT2 (and in the previous case about AllOfMP3.com) is that they're a very small ISP that are more likely to give up rather than try to throw money at a fight that's a waste from their cost-benefit view. If they went for some of the bigger ISPs like TDC or Telenor, they'd probably actually have a fight on their hands, because if Telenor started bleeding customers on this, it'd probably be a lot more than DMT2 stands to lose, and more than a proper legal fight would cost.
Anyway, I'm using OpenDNS and TPB is working fine for me, and I think I'll go there now and start downloading and sharing all the most popular torrents on my ph4t p1p3 - can you say multimegaupload? Hells to the yeah.
I haven't had enough coffee to argue about any of th eother stuff in the post, but I'd just like to address this:
They aren't talking about inserting your previous SIM card from port to port, you dirty sailor. My father was the sailor. I have at least four siblings, but I've only been told the name (and nationality) of one. Two of them were even born by two best friends.
Of course, if I was that lucky, I'd be using a condom, for fear of my penis starting to bleed purple.
And what do you do when you get a new SIM and account?
That's right, you activate it. Do try to keep up. When you're spouting hubris like "99.9% of all consumers...", do expect to be called out on it. What's your experience from the cell phone industry? Do you have any idea of the amount of resources the cell phone companies use on their different areas of service? If you can back your 99.9% statement with actual useful content, I'll not agree with GP about your post being BS. Let's just make a short count of the number of times I've been forced to activate my SIM card since I started using it: once. Let's make another count: How many phones I've had the SIM card inserted into since then: about 7. Even my mother knows how to move a SIM card into a new phone. I don't want to opine to or fro on iPhone activation, but it's a bit crass to say that it doesn't make a difference to 99.9% of all customers. Sounds a bit... made up.
There's hardly anything that is actually Ubuntu-developed. (I think that the previous statement might release a shitstorm, I hope not) What they do is wrap it all up in a neat little package. Why not? If they're the wedge needed to widen the market for Linux-distributors, then that's great. I even got my father onto xUbuntu. Is the xfce implementation in Ubuntu anything but marginally different than other xfce implementations? (I don't even believe xUbuntu is on the official tree, but replace "xfce" with "Gnome" or "KDE"). At the moment, I'd actually rather like to use Ubuntu for my base system because there's less hassle involved with getting graphics acceleration working on my nvidia board, but seeing as getting to install Ubuntu on my RAID set is actually a bigger hassle, I'll do without for now.
I was responding to jaiyen's disdainful remark about the Google Adsense Domain parking program, not the current developments. I did, however, rebuff my own statement, as I then discovered that it's only available in bulk.
Sorry about double-replying, but I had only skimmed the page. I didn't spot this:
Partner with the industry's leading parked page service
Powering millions of domain names, Google AdSense for domains is the industry's premier parked page service. Google is seeking new partnerships with large domain portfolios owners. Disregard my above comment.
I have several domains that I've purchased, but they are currently only used for mail purposes. I did purchase them for actual use, but why not let me set up domain parking? (minor note is that I haven't, partly because I don't think anyone will visit randomly, and even if they do, why the hell should the follow links)
Yeah, except that Mac OS is LONG past its first.0 release*. And it is only the hardware they make themselves... not random cruft that someone dugg out of the bottom of their cupboard.
*: Some may even say that their 10.x.0 releases ought to count as 1x.0 (15.0 being the latest)
You mean "planned" or "expected. What really annoys me is that they haven't updated their plans to reflect their new expected release (and no, I'm not going to go trawling through their mailing lists to find out)
Actually, my current mobo has a feature that allows me to pop in the original driver CD in case I burn my fingers on a bad fw upgrade... No fuss, no special equipment needed.
That's pretty much what I try to do as well. I've even eschewed most of my bad browsing habits. I'll play with ideas that don't really fit into the uptime, but could be a boon, and sometimes strike gold. Or fool's gold, as it were.

No worries, she'll be right.
Yeah. Turns out 0.8% risk of pregnancy isn't as small as I thought it was.
Srsly. I'm gonna be a father this year. DO NOT WANT!
(Scroll up a bit from the link)
AND they get pregnant.
Do you trust all the programs you run on your computer in normal user mode? They could also exploit the security hole.
SanityInAnarchy, please say hello to PingXao.

That's an infinite loop! You'll see no end to the Windows Update notifications!
