The biggest argument is that deCSS was written to allow playback on Linux yet the defending lawyer emphatically denies the existance of any player for DVD files on Linux.
The biggest argument the prosecuting attorneys make is that DeCSS was created to pirate DVD movies, and I have yet to hear of any case of a DVD movie being pirated, with DeCSS or any other technique.
If DVD piracy was occurring, don't you think that some pirates would be getting busted by now?
Same thing from me. I bought an Aureal card, couldn't get it to work, so I took it back and got a Creative card. And I sent e-mail to Aureal telling them they lost a sale cause they didn't support Linux.
I think stuff like that adds up and they're getting the message.:)
In 6 months I lost 54 pounds. For exercise I did (and continue to do) a program I found in Outside magazine, and the diet portion was inspired from "The Hacker's Diet". What I found most helpful about it was that he told you what was going to happen, and how you'd feel. Being forewarned, it made it tons easier to deal with the negative aspects of it. I actually found losing the weight to be fairly easy!
In any case, I heartily recommend "The Hacker's Diet" to anyone who needs to lose weight.
So, if I read you right, you're saying that the parents of nerds are to blame cause they're not doing a good enough job preparing their geeky kids for the pressures of public school.
What about the parents of bullies? They're doing a good job by allowing their kids to be sadistic tormenters? It's misguided opinions like yours that are the root problem here. Letting the jocks and "popular" people continue their destructive behavior, while "fixing" the geeks is just going to lead to more alienation, more hatred, and more dead jocks and innocent kids.
Learn from this, listen to the oppressed, or suffer the consequences.
FYI, I write these words 17 years post high school.
I hate Fry's WAY more than CompUSA, but this experience at Computer City took the cake. BTW, they're out of business now.:) Anyway, I bought some CC 3.5 floppies; they say "Computer City" and "Exchange if defective" on them. I took two or three bad ones back to the store:
Me: These disks are bad. Please exchange them.
Them: Yup, they're bad. Do you have a receipt?
Me: Yes, at home. But the disks say "Computer City" on them. Obviously, I bought them at a Computer City.
Them: Sorry, no tickee, no laundry.
Now, Fry's is equally customer hostile, but they have that huge selection. I try not to buy there, but you see that cheap MB/CPU combo in the paper and the next thing you know...

We have the same problem here w/ filters. So what do I do? Telnet through the firewall to my router at home, then lynx it!
If you've ever spent time in line at Space Mountain, you'll be on the floor when Tour Guide Barbie admonishes the toys while she's driving the car. :)
Oh, and see it in digital. I can see why George is insisting on digital for the next two episodes.
It still amazes me that so many people in our industry will work OT for free. Don't they have a life?
Oops, excuse me, bad question.
Back to GLADEing...

When we start seeing non-GPL software from Red Hat, then we start worrying.
