"Not drawing pictures of Mohammed" (PBUH) takes away precisely one "right" of yours, the right to be an idiot with no sense of tact or respect.
I'm a British atheist. What say I go to Alabama, defecate on a bible, wrap it in the US flag and burn the bundle. That's free speech isn't it? That's me exercising the right of a person living in the US isn't it?
Right. And that's exactly why you added 'PBUH' to your post. Nice going.

I love Firefox because of its plugins (Firebug alone is the bee's knees), but it's an absolute memory hog. On both my Windows and Linux machines, I have to restart the application every few days - it's not shy about eating up 4-5 GB of RAM easily. In many cases (and if I leave the system running long enough, as I often do) it consumes all of the available memory until the system slows to a crawl.
It especially annoys me that it's been this way for the last 2-3 years, and still nothing is being done.
My problem with Sharepoint is that doesn't work equally well on non-IE browsers. For example, text formatting is completely unavailable unless you're running IE.
Everyone but the plaintiffs win in a class action. The amount of money a class action suit gets you, on the average, is usually not worth all the time, effort, and worry.
Companies like Namco need to realize that they need more than just Pacman rehashes and the occasional Katamari port to make money, especially on a market as open as Android's, where you can easily peddle a free (or even commercial) clone of a popular game, with little fear of retribution from original companies (Beje.. *ahem* Jewellust , anyone?).
This is probably what's bugging companies like Namco more than anything - the lack of the draconian regime that makes saber-rattling on the iPhone so effective.
Growing up, I hated math, but loved programming. I remember my parents telling me that I couldn't be a programmer without knowing math, and at the time I blew them off, thinking that they didn't know any better.
Years passed, and I tried my hand at writing simple Java games, and quickly realized how correct my parents were. Even basic things required moderate math skills - division, modulo, geometry knowledge.
That said, what is the point of announcing that you're about to reveal something seriously damning about the government, instead of just releasing? The outcome seems fairly obvious in this case.
Unfortunately, Android's support for native C code leaves a lot to be desired, as one cannot write entire applications in C. At the moment, the NDK is all but useless to most developers (myself included) that need it for more than just libraries.
It is a patent issue because the flesh detection technology is patented and the patent holder wants a very high licensing fee, otherwise saw manufacturers would have adopted the technology years ago.
There's more than one way to skin a cat, no? I'm no expert at the saw-stopping tech, but it seems to me there'd be some way to do it that doesn't infringe on the patent.
As a dedicated Android user (and programmer), I still don't see the value of multitasking in a mobile app. The runtime can automatically clean up and restart the application with all the state information necessary if it ceases to run anyway. It's a lot easier to just assume that it's _always_ going to be cleaned up upon suspension, instead of writing code that accounts for the possibility that the app just may be resuming from a paused, but not terminated state.
I haven't used a single Android app, or written any code that I can say honestly benefits from the multitasking aspects of Android. The runtime can shut down my app any time it sees fit. Planning for resumption from an abruptly terminated app is the norm when developing for Android anyway. The way I see it, the apps would have more resources if the platform didn't have to multitask.
Mrs. Scum, you have won... the entire Norwich City Council!

It's a UFO. Meanwhile, somewhere, Chris Carter's getting his notepad out.
Lovely plumage...
I have an old 8-bit MSX that has a 3.5" floppy drive. Drive works surprisingly well - much better than my XBox 360, anyway.
Some of us are still suffering from it.

Let's not forget the typesetters that created the fonts. And the trees, that so graciously provided their pulp.

I've been waiting for technology that would make my computer's bootup sequence more sensitive to my needs.

I don't understand why the original story - both Silmarillion and Children of Hurin are excellent sources for future films.
