I learned how to use QWERTY in 8th grade and I've been using computers for over 20 years at work and home. I have had no wrist problems at all. In fact, I usually become more fatigued from using a mouse than my QWERTY keyboard.
No, this is about the portables and IBM. Applie doesn't seel enough PowerBooks to justify IBM's investment into a low wattage G5. The PowerBooks are stuck without this.
LOL! Over $90k in the US?! Not where I live. Where I'm at the market sucks bigtime. I've been looking to change jobs but constantly get offers for under $60k and I have 10+ years.
There is a glut of US talent out there. IMHO, this is about saving MSFT cash. I blame GWB.
Those big sensors cost alot of money. The digicam industry is markenting megapixels and probably couldn't find much of a market for a "big sensor" camera. I don't know of any compact cameras that use the larger sensors.
The high-end Sony SLR-wannabe , 8 mp camera has a manual zoom.
My pocket, 4 mp Olympus C-4000Z has a really good macro lens.
I use Linux daily at work. It's the only OS I use for development. I tried to swttch from a Palm to a Zaurus and it was a tremendous failure. First off, I could expect crashes consistently that would trash all of my PIM data. Secondly the apps (or lack thereof) made me carry my Palm as well as the Zaurus. The Zaurus wasn't good a s a PDA or as a "mini laptop", IMHO.
I had an SL-5500 about a year and a half ago. It was uber cool to have a LInux box in your pocket but unstable as hell. I went back to Palm because I actually *USE* my PDA. It was constantly crashing and/or trashing my data. I use a Linux desktop at work too.
Right now all the talk is in defense of doctors and protecting them and their insurance companies from lawsuits. The sad fact of the matter is that people die from malpractice every day and some of it borders on criminial negligance. Most of those doctors' insurance companies settle the case and they keep practicing medicine.
In certain instances of gross incompetence or lying to the family, these quacks should serve jail time.
Keep dreaming. You'll never get a completely open, downloadable music format. Besides, you don't own the rights to the music you purchase. The original copyright holder(s) do. You just purchase a license to listen to the music.
What is it with all of you Ogg Vorbis fanatics? Unfortunately, my iPod and my set-top player only like AAC or MP3. Does anyone make a portable Ogg player?
I work in a manufacturing environment and all of our level-2 systems run Compaq/Digital OpenVMS. Last night just one out of 7 of our systems (in my area of the plant) crashed at midnight on the transition between 12/30 and 12/31. Perhaps the OS uses the date of the next day when it rolls over? Who knows...the system came right back up.
Besides, we need more money to fight those darn terrorists.
More Star Wars bashing by the clueless.

Amen. I have eliminated Windows boxes from my home network and eliminated time spent fixing them as well. We run OS X and SUSE exclusively.
Several friends who I'd consider power users only keep Windows boxes around for gaming and have switched to OS X.
Unless you are a newspaper photographer or photo journalist.
Do you still use LP's?

Single Lens Reflex
The best recommendation is to take your digital photos to a lab with a Fuji Frontier printer or similiar.

No guilt here. OS X on my PowerBook and Linux on my desktops.
The X-Windows sucks and there is no replacement for the polished apps on OS X. Sorry.
Time = money
People who think that Linux is "free" have never used it or have too much free time.
They didn't use Windows CE. Remember the diplomat months back that got locked in his 7 series BMW because of a computer crash? :)
More deficit spending for future generations to deal with.
ABB in '04
No.
Do you still own and tout the benefits of BetaMax?

If you can no longer compete, sue.
Not with the current administration in office.
Yep, the 3Ware controllers are awesome and they now have a newer, faster version that rivals the most expensive controllers.
