Even though I'm an x86 user (486, more specificly) I'm inclined to agree with you. Can they not pull out a sparc or something and compile, or what?
of course, I'm sure there would be porting or something, I dunno, but anyway, I don't think that the majority should rule _all the time_, even when I'm a part of that majority.
Sometimes it becomes a full time job because people submit idiot sites to the wrong catagories and I have to sift through them in my heavily spammed catagory: (Computer:Supercomputing).
First, what was the name of that THX movie they were talking about (or y'all, if any of you, the people _on_ the show). I couldn't really hear the title because, as usual, they were talking at the same time.
Second, where was that madonna interview at, that sounded pretty funny when whomever dictated it did.
Third, what was with the 2 minute long exit music? It's really hard to hear what anyone is talking about. I heard something about whisky and something about cutting something out in "post-production."
Last, I don't think there is a worry that the they are going to offend anyone, I can hardly ever hear what they are saying. I never heard the classification of people they were insulting, so I figured they were just insulting the human race in general:).
I really don't think anyone that posted they're story on slashdot would mind having there story being published in a print form. Why would anyone want to post their story to slashdot and not want more people to hear it? I know that I certainly would want to have mine.
Ummm...in a previous GiS, didn't Rob say that he and some of the gang were setting up webcams, but weren't going to tell anyone about it? if so, I think I _may_ have found it.
I basicly just did a whois on cmdrtaco on slashnet for fun, and saw an ip of scuttle.blockstackers.com and thought "what the hell..." and followed the link to the cam. Could anyone confirm to me that this is the webcam that the mentioned or did not mention? I might just be crazy and hearing things.
AMD sold out because they're not sharks like TI and Intel, but sweet inocent fawns and didn't want to go out of buisness or expect to much, or even employ slave-labor like those basterds at lucent.

Athlons Sold Out

· Score: 1
I'm sure that they're going to keep the athlon on for a bit longer, AMD does need _some_ kind of low end chip, and dnet just got the athlon core into the beta client this week!
ok, right, but these seals cost millions of dollars, and putting these suckers togethor on earth would like crush the mountings for the seals, and all kinds of problems spur, and even the govt. can't waste _that_ much money.
actually, windows is still in wide use on the shuttle. A while back on Wired news there was a story about the astronauts not being able to work the e-mail with exchange or something. There was acutally an mp3 of a radio call back to Houston that I have. I'd put it up, but I'm a bit scared of flooding my 14.4k modem and my 486 with 24m ram, and my isp would be kinda pissed.
do you have any idea how much those things weigh?!?!?! they are several tons and the seals were not designed to handle the pressure and the gravity of earth. There is not really much of a problem anyway, I'm sure they were checked out, meaning measunred and stuff, before they left for orbit. But, if you tested them by putting them togethor they would crush each others billion dollar seals.
well...it's not going to be so visible to the naked eye that you will be able to see the USA on some of the modules, just it will be one of the brightest objects in the night-sky. But yes, with a telescope or good binoculars, I heard you would be able to see some pretty clear images of the space station, which I think is just really super-cool.
Anyone who has time to read slashdot and ask how many people would want to build their custom distrobution probably has a little extra time to tinker with something new.:).

I also wanted to see if I should think otherwise or if I wasn't alone in my thoughts about java.
good point, a little redundent though. did you read the rest of the RE:s, or even the top level strings?
Does this thing play dvds too? I think you mean RIAA.
you failed to mention that this site was in french.

I don't think you can sue a federal government. Anyone have any thoughts?

Not almost every episode, every episode. They even admitted [during this episode] that they were too lazy to edit it out in post production.

you lucky son of a bitch!!! I'm on a 486dx4 with 24m ram!!! I had to install my own cdrom and tatke out the 5 1/4 floppy disk drive!
well, I suppose it's better for the athlon to have sold out than to have it commit an error like the infamous pentium illegal opcode.

oh, I just thought of this one, a new one saying "Katz sucks because he's a mainstream writer and doens't know what fsck does." :)

But immagine what would happen when they run netscape and it core dumps!

you forgot the ritual "slashdot sucks" option :)
