  1. Re:Opie and Anthony + Howard Stern on Sirius, XM Merger Gets FCC Approval · · Score: 1

I started with XM back when O&A first started on there. I never really listened to talk radio but I found their show to be really really funny. Eventually I stopped paying for XM, and now I have Sirius in my new Ford. Howard's show is great too. I miss O&A but I'd like to have both.

I'll be interested to see how this works out...

I've heard Corona very closely mimics the behavior of seawater. I personally pledge to begin extensive testing with these materials.

I've still yet to figure out how I can get things like "Bam, Pow, Biff, Boom" to pop out in the air when I hit people. I think that would require more training than anything else.

  5. Oklo anyone? on Warning Future Generations About Nuclear Waste · · Score: 1

Familiar with Oklo? It was a natural nuclear reactor formed underground in Africa. Its waste has been held in place (within 10 feet) underground for over 2 billion years. No one needed to warn us about that...

  6. Isn't it even worse than this cost analysis? on OMG Did U C What U R Paying 4 Texting? · · Score: 1

If you wanted to get really technical, doesn't it actually cost the mobile phone company ZERO dollars to send/receive text messages. Aren't texts transmitted within the Mobile Application Part of SS7 which exists in every single packet sent to/from your phone for things like roaming information, call routing, etc. By putting a text message in this protocol and sending it to your phone, it does not cost a cent more than not sending it, does it not?

  7. Buy International Editions on Expensive Books Inspire P2P Textbook Downloads · · Score: 2, Informative

As an engineering student I realized right away the idiotic amount of money I could end up dropping on text books. I've found buying paperback international editions from websites such as abebooks.com is extremely cost effective. I can buy a 170 dollar book for 11 bucks plus 15 dollars shipping. Every semester these books change, rendering my purchases worthless. If I can do without a book, I'll do without it. If I can't, I'll buy from India. I can't believe how many peple just sit around and pay these obscene prices.
