I would imagine that you re-used this post from someone else. And you probably have a good amount of your own intellectual property tied up in Natalie Portman and hot grits. Did you happen to license this post from the original poster prior to your re-use?
I get emails that are "passed between trusted friends" all the time. If I had known that Slashdot was interested in them earlier I would have sent them in!
Not that we want to see the protected websites, per se. Simply because Johan here thinks that he can one-up the geek community at large. Me thinks that Johan's going to be rendered insignificant rather quickly.
"I'm borrowing my mother-in-law's PC on vacation, and it only has IE - it's been popup city here...."
Don't forget to clear the browser cache and URL history. You don't want her to start typing in www.hotbot.com and seven keystrokes into it do an AutoComplete to a different hot website.
I know of no other industry who makes people work so hard to use their product. If only the quality of the product was enough of a carrot to justify the effort.
As I was fixing my grandmother's computer last weekend the thought crossed my mind that I was glad that I had not taken a career turn and become a gynocologist instead.
Might you know a Doctor Auoi? I sent him some money and my bank account info awhile ago for help in freeing up a financial transaction and I haven't heard back from him.
I comment on satellite Internet. I was on Soviet space station Mir 7 month, and Internet connection was horrible. It was still far better than home Internet connection back in Russia.
Damn, post a story about how Salon is losing money and then link them in the story? That's like telling your doctor that you have a headache and then they kick you in the nuts.
The cost of retaining those attorneys (unless EFF can help) would be huge. It is common practice for a large corporation to have lawyers that will drag the case through the courts for an eternity until the legal fees take their foe out. Trust me, whatever media coverage this gets now would be long gone by the time that happens, and the Corporation would not be hurt at all.
Maxis has struck so many deals with corporations that players of The Sims discover that their Sims are being oversaturated with commercialism, thereby causing them to buy a copy of "The Sims for The Sims" so that their Sim Family can get away from it all.
Sorry, Microsoft is there, too.
Better yet, why don't we make them post like the rest of the trolls so we can mod them appropriately?

Then some nerd would port Apache to it and sit in his room with his phone set on vibrate and tucked into his pants front pocket.
Some nerd like me, for example.

This will be circumvented in 5...4...3...2...

One of the many things that I liek about Linux is that it ignors Gator and all of the other assorted scumware out there. YAY!

Learn from my mistakes.
Bad analogy. Leaving my door unlocked, no matter how seedy the neighborhood, does not give anyone the right to walk in.
How do THEY know that the person hasn't legally purchased the CD? Do they register all CD purchases over there?
I don't like the idea of any anti-piracy group assuming that I'm guilty prior to a fair hearing by billing me.
Heard in the basement of the parents house of the guy who houses the Tech Spot server...
Julio: "Oh man, these glasses are trick! That image of a burning server looks TOTALLY real.
Franko:Dude, you took the glasses off 10 minutes ago. That IS our server.
Those older SGI glasses were twin 14" monitors strapped to the persons head. That might explain the headaches.
I'm sure that their competitors will be happy to have me read their content.
What? Time Warner bought all their competition? Hmmmm...

"... this system, if put into place, would give them the last piece of the puzzle needed to blow up the White House!
And this is a problem...WHY?

Thanks.

Someone call Katz! We've got a suicidal geek on our hands.

Black Friday is the feeding frenzy in the retail sector that happens the day after Thanksgiving.
Can you afford to fight the lawyers from Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, and Staples?
I didn't think so. Fat Wallet is in touch with the EFF, though. We'll see what happens.

Marketing genius, I say.
Rioting naked UO players? Please reconsider whether you want to be "enlightened" in this manner.
