People have been getting robots to do what is too unsafe for humans to do for a long time. Studying the insides of volcanos, defusing bombs, roaming the surface of Mars, and interacting with others in public all hold the same level of danger to geeks.
And all the other holidays that were invented by Hallmark are genuine?
I'm rarely concerned about the sincerity of the person who brings me pizza unless I think that they might have figured out that I'm the one that altered the entry in their address book for the tight-bodied gal in the mailroom to include their significant other in their mailings to her.
Maybe my next manager won't question a beer keg being expensed as an "external storage device required for optimal network performance".
Question: If this vehicle is going to generate more electricity than it needs, and the home-based hydrogen generator needs a bunch of electricity to generate hydrogen, wouldn't it be a good trade-off to swap the excess electricity for hydrogen when you park the vehicle at night?
I mean, I know that it wouldn't generate enough electricity to make an equivalent amount of hydrogen, but it seems like the two feeding each other would make the cost of hydrogen production much lower.
I see that you haven't bothered to read the links. Go no further in the second link than the headline and you will find "Lab: Scientist Fabricated Research".
I understand that reading the links on/. is way out of the ordinary for those who post comments, but at least skim the headlines!
You speak as if the Better Business Bureau is some sort of stand-alone group that has some sort of teeth to it. Do you know who pays their bills? The big companies that you want to complain about. If you want to see the BBB at "work" check out this page detailing the ongoing hassles with Best Buy and the GeForce 4 debacle.
Quit buying the name-brand cartridges altogether. This place has by far the cheapest prices on inkjet cartridges. I know, because I've priced them all over the place and nobody touches them. Low shipping, too.
No, I don't work for them, nor am I affiliated with them. I'm just a cheap bastard that refused to pay for expensive ink. And with the price of great-quality inkjets down under $100USD (I picked up my Canon S450 for $60 at Fry's and it's great) it doesn't make sense to spend 1/3 of the price on ink every month.

Betcha next years /. "meatings" will be better attended by robots than this years organic model attendance.

You're posting from the afterlife? Or is this Shirley Maclain?
Does anyone know whether Gates was wearing ruby slippers when he made the above statement?
By 2010, we could expect more bits per second of internet traffic than there are atoms in the universe.
Then what will be used to transmit that traffic?

freeperens.com, freeperens.org, and freeperens.net are available.
Great idea for a geeky horror flick.
When your firewall is up, no one can hear you scream.
And you would upgrade one of these mission-critical servers with Mandrake 9.0 BETA.
Get a grip. This is a BETA a of a dot-zero release. Only WinME crashes more than a dot-zero release BETA.

Just so you know, that trick doesn't work in IE.
Yes, I'm being funny.
About time those pasty kids got outside for a bit, although I'd think that the glare off of their faces would distract the players.
Great, could you help them out by pointing to an open-source currency to pay for this that won't get them arrested for counterfeiting?
What, are they using it to do traffic reports now?
I know, but he was the Gubnuh of Texas and keeps up residency down there so he's one of them now.
In light of that, however, I may make a minor change to my sig.
It must really bug you that "Stupid White Men" has been #1 for 16 weeks, huh?
I sense that "Geeks in Space" will be brought back to declare that Windows is dead.
No, on the contrary. Mr. Nader does his work all the time, and not only when it looks good to potential voters.
That's why so many people like him, Jordan. He's a person and not a puppet.
1) They ran with an XP1800+, so I'd have to assume that power is sufficient
2) There will be a 1 AGP/1 PCI version in the future, according to Shuttle.
All in the article.
