...and then the flood of users to Opera would cause "security experts" to find the exploits that undoubtedly exist in that product.
The reason why exploits are written for IE/Outlook is not necessarily because Microsoft packs their product full of holes, but because more people use the products, more people will be affected by the exploit, and the chance of the "security expert" seeing their name mentioned in the media goes up.
Firstly, go buy some rechargable AA batteries. Your cost to run your camera will drop considerably.
Secondly, the dimensions of the different print cartridges WITHIN a manufacturer's line are very different, let alone crossing manufacturers. As long as this is the case there will never be a universal cartridge.
"It is a legal requirement that pre-installed operating systems remain with a machine for the life of the machine. If a company or individual donates a machine to your school, it must be donated with the operating system that was installed on the PC."
What the hell sort of scare tactic is that? Last I checked when I purchased a computer I could install whatever I wanted to on it.
I highly doubt that they've gone ahead and opened all 270,000 shrinkwrapped boxes already, so those that they haven't opened they can just take back to CompUSA, right?
One of the new business models that Jay Berman, Chairman and CEO of IFPI, did not cover in this press release is what I consider to be, by far, the most effective to halt the illegal trade of music: Bad Artists.
As long as the recording industry continues down the path of promotion truly horrible music, they will succeed in reducing the amount of pirated music that is exchanged.
No shit. He should have grabbed a digital camera with a few 128 meg compact flash cards. I know that with my little 1.0 megapixel camera that I can get over 500 pictures at the highest quality on one 128 meg card. All you'd need is two and a laptop with a reader so you can load the pictures to hard drive and then wipe the card clean for the next 500 miles of pictures.

KDE 3.0 is Out

· Score: 2
It's only the techies who would be downloading 3.0 instead of simply finding it on the CD of the distribution that they just purchased from CompUSA.
Maybe this is in some way/. trying to get a First Post.
Why would a site that is so anti-MPAA give a hairy orcs ass what the MPAA thinks of a movie? The whole Oscars/Grammys/Emmys/Tonys thing is nothing more than a studio circle-jerk, and the People's Choice voting is simply the public regurgetating what they're told to like.
Excellent movies come out every year that kick major ASS on whatever winner is given the Oscar ("Gladiator"/"CTHD" comes to mind), and many of them aren't even nominated.
When FCC head Michael Parker was just a mere commissioner he was the only FCC commissioner who voted for the AOL/Time Warner merger to go through without any stipulations whatsoever. And considering his father Colin Powell (yes, the Colin Powell) served on the AOL board of directors at the time that shouldn't surprise you either.
Thanks, Michael. Now AOL/Time Warner can continue on with their complete ownership of the fastest home-based broadband Internet service available.
Any word on whether there will be anti-piracy measures on this album? Kinda like retro-fitting a better hull design for the Titanic, but still...

No SMP on the P4. The Xeon line is the only line that Intel currently produces that has SMP capabilities.
You've obviously forgotten the Golden Rule:
He who has the gold, makes the rules.
The product tie-ins are a joke as well. Why on EARTH would anyone want a CowboyNeal action figure? *shudder*
Like the choosings aren't already watered down, we have to deal with yet another Linux distro.
They were left in the driver's side visor. That's where everyone leaves their keys.

It's true, cuz Willie Nelson and John Cougar tell me so!
...I wonder if they could answer a question for me. Will it really only be cockroaches and Keith Richards that would live through a nuclear war?
Is Napster a privately-held company or can I download shares on the P2P network?

Does anyone know if this will come pre-installed on the floor machines at Comp USA or will I have to install it myself?
It's only karma, so no biggie.

Can't wait for when Warcraft III comes to a theater near you and /. does the review.
Bend light? The best we've been able to accomplish around the lab is break wind.

Second-best thing to do, but sadly the first most likely of the two to be happening to those who know his name well. *sigh*
