As a healthcare IT administrator, I can say that I am paid about the same in healthcare as when I worked for a Fortune 500 manufacturer. As far as developer (which is what the OP was implying by saying Facebook, Google, etc... I don't think the OP meant the companies' sysadmins.) pay goes, I have no idea.
News flash:
All of the servers of (insert opposition party) have been seized by the (insert party in power) government under child pornography charges.
I live in an area where I have two choices: Comcast and ATT DSL. I don't feel like paying $80 a month for Comcastic service and speeds... so the $45 a month for direct dsl at 6mbs isn't a bandaid, its the best choice. The cable conglomerates need competition. If that competition comes from FTTH, dsl or any other technology so be it, but cable is not the answer.
While the visuals are absolutely stunning... I think this takes MacLoving to an all new level. I mean come on, a flaming apple? Whats next? The two Steves doing the tango?
It seems to me that the pool of users that Chrome is seeking to draw from has already been taken by the likes of Firefox and Opera. And, unfortunately for Chrome, fans of Firefox and Opera are violently loyal customers. Even if Chrome supported addons I would have a hard time giving up my Firefox.
I would be sure to ask what the process is to migrate your existing email infrastructure over the new vendors' respective systems. This includes mailboxes, distribution groups, etc. Make sure there is an import utility, and if not... ask them to make one (assuming that this is a big enough purchase, the vendors should do this for little to no cost). Other than that, I'd be sure to ask the obvious ones like reliability, compatibility with spam filters/policies, stuff like that.

EAL6 is NOT the highest rating given by the NSA. EAL7 is. EAL7 has been awarded to one product (The Tenix Interactive Link Data Diode Device). Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evaluation_Assurance_Level
