To be honest, I never did see the difference between Kickstarter and begging for charity. As far as I can tell even if the product becomes wildly successful, the expected return on investment is exactly zero percent. Maybe I'm missing something here.
It's not just Americans, but it is the idea that everything you learn must be done in the interest of making money. The Humanities are important because they link people with their culture on a deeper level than the latest blockbuster does. They enrich the soul and give you a place in eternity, which in turn boosts your self esteem and reduces depression. Even the things your average geek enjoys like video games and science fiction are informed on a deep level by culture and the arts.
In short, Humanities deal with the things that make life worth living. Dressing it up as hard science does both science and the arts a disservice.
I've done it using a triangular file. It's not a perfect copy but it opens the lock.
I don't really understand why you'd want to replace a lost key though. If the key is lost anybody could have it and open your lock in your absence. The sane and safe solution is to replace the lock.
Have you heard about time zones? I mean here you are International Revolution Day 2013 12:00 GMT. The Australians and Japanese will all be sitting at home after a hard days' lynching and looting, various heads of state now heads on pikes, Europe has barely erected its first gallows and parts of the US are just waking up unsure of which outfit will go best with their handgun of choice.
It seems a bit unfair that westward leaders will have more time to prepare than their eastern counterparts.
X should be mandatory end to end encryption on all private communication. That way, if it's not encrypted it's fair game for eavesdropping. If it is, the communication should legally be treated as sealed envelope. Spy agencies will still surreptitiously intercept the communication and try to break the encryption, but at least they'll have to work for it. If they have to work hard enough blanket screening will become impractical.
It's like that very old joke: Earlier today researchers announced the invention of a device that makes it possible to see through brick walls. They have named this contraption a "window."

I think you'll find that there is no such thing as a second Wargames movie. It's a myth like the sequels to the Matrix and the Star Wars prequels.
Who cares? You'll get to hang out with a guy who flies RC pterodactyl gliders.
Far less people than those who assemble the iPhones. On the bright side, robots don't hurl themselves off the roof of your factory.
If not, the Internet villain of 2013 is still in the lead for Evilest Internet Villain of the century.
Just because a large proportion of formal Humanities studies are inbred pissing contests doesn't mean that the subject isn't worth studying.
I still stand by my post although on reflection I would use the word "mind" where I put "soul."
When the only tool you have is a hammer...
You know the rest.
So it was useful to you. By experiencing both worlds you taught yourself to recognize bullshit.

Shutting down all PRISM related datacenters will seriously reduce the US carbon footprint.
Remember what happened to Jesus after he kicked around the Money Changers?
No but I do remember what happened to Wesley Snipes after he refused to pay his fair share of taxes.
Unrouted wii ends up splattering all over the floor and on your shoes.
In a world where seismologists can be jailed for not predicting an earthquake anything is possible.
I don't know. I think Terry Gilliam was very close to making this shit up when he wrote the script for Brazil.
when I was growing up (70's), 'the red commies' were the ones that did the shit WE are now doing.
Erm... You might want to look into COINTELPRO. The US was doing this back then as well, just not as efficient.
the 80s and early 90s every european kid wanted to be american.
No we didn't.

Indeed. "Mastering the Internet" sounds like an evening class that teaches old people how to use email and facebook.
Do you mean a biogas installation? Many of those plants literally run on bullshit.(and cow and pig and sometimes even human)
Go on! Live a little. Be proud of your typos. Make them with wild abandon!

I don't see dirty old men using Google Glass to take upskirt pictures. These however...
And if you smoke enough you don't even need a VR headset to achieve full immersion.
