Sorry, but your post exposes some naivete. Oil is a STRATEGIC ASSET - not merely a commodity. Supply and demand are certainly non-trivial forces, but they can be manipulated. For evidence of that, just look at the speculative trade that was happening prior to the economic bust.

Our government in the US manipulates the oil market as much as possible to ensure that the government has as close to an unlimited supply as possible, then they work to ensure that the American public has an adequate supply as well.

Anyone who believes that oil was NOT a factor in deciding to invade Iraq is really denying reality. Despite all the other reasons given for the invasion, the DECIDING factor was oil. The US needs to ensure that oil flows freely around the world, and that the US always has the lion's share of that oil. We need not benefit directly from the flow of oil out of Iraq. The fact that oil is flowing helps to keep prices down elsewhere.

Always remember that word "strategic" when you are considering the price and availability of petroleum products. Mere supply and demand take a back seat to strategic concerns.

But, why on earth does he have packets going to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/ ??? That isn't a game site - he's not browsing, or there would be a lot more packets. Hmmmmm. A little checking, and I holler at him. "Have you installed anything lately? Have you done a virus scan on your stupid Windows laptop? What is this site?" He looks at it, tells me it's nothing HE ever heard of, goes back to his machine, and does some checking. An hour or so later, he admits that he was testing some stupid schitz that one of his buddies recommended. One of the features happens to be a trojan.

All the snake's eggs I've ever seen have tough, rubbery shells. Lizard eggs are harder than the snake's eggs that I've seen, but still don't have the brittle calcium egg shell that bird's eggs have.

Oh wait - let me back up a wee bit. I've found a few bird's eggs in the wild that were less hard and brittle than chicken's eggs. Apparently, not all birds produce the same type of egg shell. Duck's egg shells are more rubbery than chicken's eggs.

Nope - no citations for any of that - just personal experience. Go buy a jar of caviar, and examine those fish eggs.

How sure are you of that? I'm not even going to argue that you have to fear the GOVERNMENT. There are plenty of other people that you should fear. I think that it's Dateline that ran all those child predator expose's - if you're young and female, and the predator can get your name and location, they'll come flocking to your door. Hell, if you're young and MALE, a different predator will come to your door, too. Then, there are the predators who prefer the more mature females.

Alright, let's forget about sex predators. How about more "normal" thieves, muggers, and robbers. Only months ago, someone was selling something online, and agreed to meet the buyers AT THEIR HOME. The buyer shows up with a gun and a freind, and they walk away with the goodies.

Politics. I argue politics online all the time. Some of those crazy SOB's would be happy to ambush me when I leave the house in the morning, because I hate their favorite, or they hate my favorite, or whatever. Step into ANY political forum, and say anything good about Obama, and the crazies will come out of the woodwork with "He isn't a citizne" "He's a Moslem" "Obama hates whites" "Obama hates America", etc ad nauseum

Still on politics, world level. I've badmouthed a LOT of people like Osama bin Laden. Some of the people I've argued with actually claim to have fought against westerners and against whites, and to have fought against American interests. I have little idea if any individual claim is true or not - but out of all of them, one or more may very well have the resources and/or the contacts to send a squad to my house. IF, that is, I were foolish enough to tell them who I am, and where I live.

Is it dangerous to identify yourself online? Maybe not - if you're a homely old dude with nothing to lose, and no political convictions. But, you MIGHT come to the attention of some kid who needs to impress his gang, so he decides to come to your house and kill you.

Go ahead, put YOUR full name and all your details online. I'll pass. Oh - don't forget. The clown(s) who show up to take you out will probably see your wife and kids, and use them for amusement after they knock you off. But, hey, that's the risk your family takes for associating with you, right?

I don't think there is a "serial killer" gene at all. I think that people with broken minds account for most of them. The Ted Bundy type are probably quite rare - he had a fine mind, but it seems that his sexuality was tied to torturing and killing women, much like Jack the Ripper.

Other killers with lesser minds than Bundy have killed plenty of women, out of some perverse sexual need.

But, a serial killer gene? Nope, I don't believe so. There are OTHER things seriously wrong with a man who kills women - or other men, for that matter. You won't find the problem isolated in one gene, or even associated with any small group of genes. You'll do better searching for the genes that cause various mental illnesses. Shizophrenia isn't all that uncommon among the famous killers, for example.
