You do realize that with paying customers you can't just crank out a patch overnight and hope it doesn't affect any other piece of software. Of course when a Linux patch breaks something all you have is neckbeards sending you nasty emails. Microsoft is open to lawsuits and contract issues.
I have an ancient X1650 card with my main monitor on the analog VGA and TV on the DVI. Every Linux distro ignores my X config and makes the monitor some miniscule resolution like 320x240. However if I unplug the TV its fine. This happens even with the TV powered off.
ePay is so hostile for anyone selling casually its no longer worth your time. Paypal now holds onto your funds for weeks if you haven't sold anything recently and your feedback score or number of auctions makes no difference. No matter what small item is sold everyone complains. As a seller you'll automatically lose any complaint filed against you. People overpay for items and then complain something is wrong and then pick arbitrary partial refund values. The auction fees themselves have gotten ridiculous, over 10% on small items. As a buyer you won't find any auction deals. That time has long past. Now its mostly a marketplace for Chinese storefronts.
Why can't someone come up with an alternative? Google has a payment system up and running so why can't they make a competitor?
Quite simply the world is a better place without these people in it. Bullet to the head and then put the body out for the weekly trash pickup. Treat them as garbage.
So use VNC if you need a remote display. This need to keep 30 year old features unchanged has got to stop. 99% of the people using the GUI are running it locally.
Oh yeah that old Linux box really filters water or prints money. How the hell do you even power it when you have no electricity? Whatever you send there will be seized by whoever is running the country this month and sold for profit.
You're going to ruin the liberal feel good circle jerk. Yeah someones discarded PII-266 box will boot Linux and get Africa online. Now they just have to fix the other issues like drought, drug trade, poaching, blood diamonds, genocide....
Its not one script anymore. Its one script hundreds of lines long that calls other scripts to finally accomplish something you could do with seconds and ifconfig. Don't get me started with the mess systemd is.
Seriously its so much cleaner than a typical Linux install. Linux is nothing but scripts built upon scripts now. How do you even change the ip address from the command line?

Are you wearing clothing only made from 100% of one material? Have you shaved? You certainly better not be a woman and quoting the bible.

If the last current build is secure why should we need continued development? The tool is out there and it works. I don't see that as a problem.
Pipedot is nearly dead too. SoylentNews seems to be doing alright.
Looks fine from here. X11 and web browsers have had ugly fonts forever. Even today the default fonts still look like something CDE vomited up.
Perfect use for a tablet. I also attach pontoons to my car and go boating.
Can any chemists out there explain how ethanol is eating away these rubber parts while gasoline doesn't?
So you did something the instructions told you not to do and you blame the manufacturer?

If you're spending that much for Fiat you might as well spend a bit more and get a Maserati.

Who was charging you $10 a month in 1994 for cable tv? Nobody that's who.
Most likely they are getting strong armed by the USA or the EU.

Neckbeard much?
How do people even make meth in this country? Anything with Pseudoephedrine in it requires them to scan your drivers license.

Wasn't that easy on my BeagleBone Black board http://derekmolloy.ie/set-ip-a...
How anyone is supposed to figure that out is beyond me. Is a script calling ifconfig too good for you people?

Look what happened to this guy when he tried to blow the whistle on all the bad cops http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A...
They abducted him and had him admitted to a mental hospital for six days!
Can't blame Microsoft for this or use the "many eyes" argument either.
What about the times when people drank beer for all 3 meals because it was safer than the water?
