    Two to three years, but probably at two to three times the price. I'm all for saving the planet, but as long as the "greener" products cost way more than the standard ones, I'll probably remain a polluter.

    It's easy for Google to call software patents junk when their primary source of income is advertising. They can afford to give all their software away (or provide access to it online, whatever) for free. Microsoft, on the other hand, relies on its software to make money.

    Until computers came along, the word 'application' largely meant the act of putting something to a particular use. Then information technology took ownership, and the word 'application' became synonymous with a self-contained piece of software installed on a PC or Mac.
