Something I've noticed recently is that Google Maps are much faster on IE than on Firefox.
To try for yourself, go to http://maps.google.com, then double-click anywhere to the side of the map display. It will automatically re-center to wherever you clicked. I've found the re-centering is MUCH faster (and smoother) on IE than on Firefox...
Could I be missing something? Perhaps there's some way to make it faster on Firefox?
First off, realize that the American health industry is like the software industry- they'd much sooner sell you something additional rather than teach you how to use the features in the software you already own.
With that in mind, realize that we as humans have been evolving for hundreds of thousands, even millions, of years. In software terms, we're probably past version 500000.5. Imagine how much you could develop software in that amount of time.
We already have every feature built into us that we need to improve our eyesight.
With all that in mind, research methods that show you how to strengthen the muscles in your eyes, and hence improve your eyesight naturally- without using anything "extra" besides spending the time to do it. Think of it as learning the underpinnings of UNIX vs. the GUI of Windows.
Right now I am using a videotape called Yoga for the Eyes, where I do about 25 minutes worth of eye strengthening each session. Granted, I'm supposed to do it every day, and it's pretty difficult, but I already see more clearly (3 weeks with 4 full / 7 partial sessions) without the use of my contact lenses. Also, people have commented on how my eyes look brighter and my face looks younger. Something definitely worth checking out.
Your argument is based on the potentially erroneous argument that "higher standard of living" equals "more happiness."
I have to agree with this. I realize everyone else that has studied Energy Medicine (google for it) already know this, but for those of you who don't, the energy system (think daemon) that governs "happiness" and the system that governs our stress response system are mutually exclusive: you simply cannot feel happiness and stress at the same time. Furthermore, the longer you feel stress, the longer "happiness" is shut off, and the more difficult it is to turn back on. Considering the levels of heart disease and other health-related items pointed out in the article, Americans feel WAY more stress and experience nowhere near the level of happiness their bodies are capable of.
That the default bookmark files for BOTH Netscape and Mozilla (Netscape RPM from Red Hat 6.2 and Mozilla RPM from nautilus.eazel.com) do the same thing: look at the URLs, for example, under Computers and Internet. They send you to Netscape's site first and then redirect you to the site of the Bookmark's title.

A friend of mine bought one up in Manhattan last weekend... Not sure what he paid for it or what the current software availability is for it.
