The good stuff is buried in there: Another open-source player, who asked not to be identified, told eWEEK that the $50 million investment into SCO was surprising to him as "SCO is not a good growth company and is in fact on life-support. A solid company that's been in business as long as SCO has should be making it's money from product/services and not donations and lawsuits.
"I had to look at BayStar to see why they would do this and the only thing that makes sense is the PIPE program. Someone has a vested interest in seeing SCO continue and lo and behold, there is Microsoft listed as a BayStar PIPE customer," he said.
Baystar may not be a Microsoft TOol (and I don't care if they are), but they are FUCKING MORONS for making a $50 mil unsound investment.
In the future (actually, our present day!) people won't have to "change" plastic things to switch songs- they'll just hit the next button.
And iTunes (or whatever FSF alternative is better...) will show them that they have 29 days worth of music on their current playlist. And when they want to take their music to their friends house they can simply take a harddrive- be it an external USB 2.0, or just a regular old internal IDE...
I have a portable MP3 player with Smart Media cards- they are small, they look cool, I get neat-o stares on planes. But you know what? Its a PAIN IN THE *SS to switch those stupid cards in and out.
The future is convenience. Hard drives are convenient. Your silly attempt to deny this and bring about a new "media" is comical and quaint.
but its faster than mozilla. PNG support: in a perfect world, my toaster oven would have OGG support. But this being the internet, I haven't noticed the lack of PNG support in YEARS.
The HTML is indeed questionable, but that's what those web-coders get paid for- to code around IE.
So those rationalizations (valid ones, too!), combined with the fact that mozilla runs like a rickety old grandma on my 1.1 gig machine, leads me to believe I currently have the best of all worlds (given that I am forced to run XP)
I've already got it! for IE!- crazybrowser

and to further clarify: point 3: uhm, what exactly is point three? Terms of licensing are high? AS in cost to the customer? Or cost to the record label? Indie's and Majors all get the same treatment (link found elsewhere in this article)- its 99 cents a song, albums for 9.99, songs over 7 minutes are only available as albums. If an album has less than 10 tracks, its number of tracks times 99 cents (5 track ep costs 4.95)
As for driving iPod sales, this is actually a COUNTER to your claim- they don't care to make money off iTunes, they just want a kick ass service, so you'll use iTunes, and then maybe you'll think about buying an iPod.
2- I don't jog;) I have a tread mill at home, so I can use headphones connected to the TV, and play Tekken on my PS2. Next. (I also have a teeny first generation YEPP that has no moving parts if I ever wanted to venture out into the realworld)
3- Its expensive, but its cute. And if you can rationalize the Cute-vs-$ argument, then its a non-issue. I just got a stereo that looks like a digital toaster. I could have found a cheaper one, but this one looked K00L, so I payed more.
Not that anyone REALLY needs to be discouraged from the N-gage, it seems to be doing just fine on its own, but for the 5 dorks who said "yeah, I just might buy this thing" at least 4 of the have been dissuaded by Papa Sony's mention of making something, someday, that might be portable. Even if its "portable" like the original Macintosh (luggable, actually).

And here you go
See? was that so hard?
Are we slowly turning into a milky white skin-toned people?
;)
No, I'll never turn into a Brit.
It's olive skin for me!

P.S.- parent is a troll- treat it accordingly.

NAh, you got a playa-hating degree.
Mod grandparten up as FUNNY!
ANd it is a scientific fact that Galileo was indeed looking up his own ass.
are the winner out of all the lunar-ice jokes. If I had mod points, I'd hit you up.
WHAT gamespy street cred?!
actually, this is GREAT for Nokia! A hacker-friendly phone platform! Why, they might actually SELL a few!
(Who do you think leaked the info in the first place?!) [/conspiracy]
Sorry guys, the volume was turned down on my speakers, I didn't know!
I'm not just side talkin', I'm also Side HACKING!

its a small download, it runs on top of IE, you get tabbed browsing and it blocks pop ups. I like it better than mozilla.
Uhm, who needs microsoft?
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with CrazyBrowser- I just think its the jam, and that its way better than mozilla.
THank you. You saved me the time and typing.

ohhhh, Kid A and/or Kid B!! I like your angle!
Thats a great idea! (despite the potential for copyright infringement- better send a letter to their lawyers...)
I mean, post.
bwhahahahahaha!
Oh wait. You weren't kidding.
With 1 really being the biggest issue.

Are you implying Dragonball Zed is GOOD?!
What is wrong with you, man!
And this is better than a $2.49 1/8-to-dual-RCA cable how?
;)
No wires!
Thus the laptop w/802.11b option!
"Indium GaAs is the technology of the future - and always will be."
Sounds great, can't wait to see it in commercial use, but I'm not holding my breath.
me too, but I got one of those "Matrix" 900mhz broadcasters from ThinkGeek (super on sale!) so my computer plays to the AUX in on my stereo.
;)
And If I need more control than that (or if thats not audiophile enough for you), I can hook up my laptop with 802.11b card to the AUX input.
Who needs a CD changer system? I have 140 gigs of harddrive! (true, 40 of that is taken up by XP...
Ahhh yes, my plans are unfolding nicely. This will lull the RIAA into a false sense of security, thinking that their draconian tactics are effective.
Little do they know I am now using their servers to stash MP3s!! And PORN! Muhahahahahahahahahaha!
