I, for one, welcome our "var computer" overlords.

  2. Live Search? on Microsoft Bets Big On Computing For the Car · · Score: 0

Microsoft is also making 'Live Search' technology available to automakers to develop in-car search and navigation.

Why would I want that? I'll wait until Google makes an in-car search feature, thank you very much.

Yeah, this is what I'm thinking too. Slashdot is not exactly an obscure site, so this is sure to call massive amounts of attention to this.

  4. Re:Tr2n? on Bootleg Tron 2 Trailer Is Out In the Wild · · Score: 0, Flamebait

L337-sp34k major here. It's pronounced tr-two-n, just like it's spelled.

Totally forgot about the existing prior art in this case. Mod parent up.

  6. Re:FIRST on Microsoft's Decade-old Patent On Tree-view Mode! · · Score: 2, Insightful

It appears we have stunning commentary on the nature of software patents. If a company, "first posts," if you will, they get the right to license the patent to others and sue those that don't pay them royalties. Truly, parent is a modern genius of metaphor.

  7. Re:Does skype like back door action? on More Skype Back Door Speculation · · Score: 0
Well, the closed-source part might make it difficult to check for the whole back door thing. If Skype was open-source, though, I'd definitely be reading it's code, if you know what I mean.

Any idea why mods are calling parent insightful?

  8. Why the Sony hate? on Thirst For Coltan Fueling African Conflict · · Score: 0

This article makes it seem as if Sony is fueling African conflict in a similar fashion to the less reputable diamond dealers. However, coltan is used in so many electronic products that you can't really nail it down to one company like TFA appears to be trying to do. But then again: SONY IS EVIL AND IS KILLING INNOCENT AFRICANS

  9. Re:Have you seen the CL privacy page? on Craigslist Forced To Reveal a Seller's Identity · · Score: 0

    Not Found

    There is nothing here

No web page for this address

    404 Error

Apparently, you're not going to find privacy here. Perhaps parent should be modded funny?

  10. Re:Version control on Programmer's File Editor With Change Tracking? · · Score: 1, Interesting

I know for a fact that Eclipse has this feature as well.

And who doesn't use the acronym INPWRTUTWKAI? Absolutely ridiculous.
