Fair comment. I live in the Bible-Belt of the U.S. so my view is probably somewhat skewed. Here, any supposed "Christian" only gets to be a card-carrying member if they hate gays, blacks and anyone even slightly left.
Aldenissin, I would venture to say that you are an anomaly in the Christian world. I hate religious conversation because it's generally a waste of time but, unfortunately, there is a reason people generalize about Christians being against everything related to freedom and choice. Most of your people take the bible literally instead of the guide that it was meant to be.
We were getting so much from the government because of the number of children we have that I had to get a job paying $40k/year to make it worth getting off the program. You really think Wal-Mart is going to pay the door-greeter $20/hour? No fucking way. I'm making upwards of $70k/year now so I'm glad I did it, but there are plenty of people on the program that will never get off, no matter how much you raise minimum wage.
Mr, Kesuke Miyagi: [sighs] Daniel-san, must talk. [they both kneel] Walk on road, hm? Walk left side, safe. Walk right side, safe. Walk middle, sooner or later, [makes squish gesture] get squish just like grape. Here, Internet, same thing. Either you Internet do "yes", or Internet do "no". You Internet do "guess so", [makes squish gesture] just like grape. Understand?
I'm not sure you meant to use the word "welfare". I've been on both ends of that spectrum: On welfare and paying into the system that supplies the money. And it's a complete fucking racket, for sure, but one thing it doesn't help is The Rich. Go down to your local welfare office and look around the waiting room and tell me how many "rich" people you see down there. Maybe you meant that the rich get so many tax breaks and incentives that come out of the same government money that welfare does, but I promise you that welfare wouldn't suffer if that pool dried up. If you were to cut even one recipient's food stipend by $5/month you would have an all-out riot on your hands...those guys don't mess around. Instead, they will take money away from Social Security, medical research and, yes, NASA.
The big tech companies should start investing in these rural electricity providers since these villages are untapped revenue for potential consumers. Just like rural America, there's money to be had in "them there hills".
From a more realistic standpoint, relationships between enlisted personnel is not frowned upon for the most part, provided they are the same rank or at least both NCO's or non-NCO's (non-commissioned officer). Yes, there are different enlistment dates and more responsibilities are given to the soldier with the earliest enlistment date when they have the same rank, but that doesn't really apply to relationships from what I've seen. The big no-no amongst enlisted is if one is an NCO and one is not. If a Private and a Staff Sergeant hook up then the SSG can get in quite a bit of trouble for abusing the rank and higher authority. This is all assuming they are in the same Unit; soldiers with different MOS's and not in the same unit or company should be able to date whomever they want. It happens all the time and I know several NCO's married to non-NCO's and even officers.
People meet and fall in love in the military on a daily basis, regardless of rank or status.
Ah yes, it was the 300a with the BX chipset...I remember now, thank you. My next rig after that was dual celery 366 oc'd to 550 each...1100 MHz!! I bought that pre-configured from some online store and I later added RAM and it BSOD'd...so the components had to be specific, apparently.
I don't mess with all that customization of hardware anymore - overclocking and sound-activated neon lights in the case...who has time? Give me a Dell off the shelf and a decent video card and I'm set.
Is this where I'm suppised to say Now get off my lawn!?
Ah, yes...the Voodoo2 SLI. I remember when I plugged in that second card, hooked up the SLI connector-ribbon and started up Unreal for the first time...Jeebus, I was in heaven. Few things in my life have compared to moment, save the birth of my children and getting married (which I somehow got out mom's basement long enough to accomplish).
Shortly after I bought a P2 300 (overclocked to 450, ofc) and out of my group of friends I was untouchable at Q3 for a while.
I've done quite a bit of computer work in rural Kentucky and I can tell you that most of the jokes that IT people make about idiot-users come from there. And that's in office environments...I can't even imagine the Geek Squad types that have to deal with the masses who need to be taught how to use a mouse. I'll take a pay-cut and work in the city ANY day of the week.
It seems like they could solicit money from the rest of the world since their studies benefit everyone. I'm sure someone smarter than me has thought of that already.
Well, technically they are the thoughts of Robert Mark Kamen...I only plagiarized.

Daniel LaRusso: Yeah, I understand.
So....five?
Heh, you almost got me. I was worried about a honeypot and Googled it...nice one.
I'd give you mine but, well, I've spent the last several minutes on 4chan. You probably don't want it now.
Ugh...no one told me 4chan is NSFW.

You forgot Enemy Mine...but you're right; War Games may not have been flashy, 16-bit eye candy but the idea was similar to the others.
You don't own anything by Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo...or any of the other BS providers? Or is your run home by Linux?

Johnny Cab!!
Yes! I sat there with my mouth agape, dazzled by all the pretty lights and the wavy-water.
It could print parts of itself, but it would obviously run out of space before it managed to print the whole thing

I had no idea what it was either, but I assume that if you don't know, then you probably don't care anyways.
Sounds like there needs to be a more Standardized version of Open-Source
