    Most religions revolve around how many people you can convince to adhere to your rules.

    And as that religion grows, the people on the top get more powerful and wealthy.

    And once something bad happens and the religion starts to fragment, all the people on the bottom who are donating cash, time, etc get fucked.

    But don't take MY word for it. Read a book.

    It's also a tax shelter country that the founder was born and raised in.

    I've always though the Ubuntu folks were particularly generous giving those CD's away. I mean it's not like they were demos or trialware or something.

    Windows 7 is just rebranded Vista.

    Vista wasn't terrible to begin with.

    Windows 7 is about the same but it's no Mac OSX or Ubuntu, that's for sure.

    When you start a new company overseas, you usually don't just buy a building and send people over there.

    Sun Microsystems GmbH and Oracle Ltd (or whatever they are) are european business units owned by Oracle Inc in the US. They're probably the ones who need regulatory approval.

    yeah, it's only part of the leading smartphone stack (Android, J2ME, etc), a large number of the top 10-20 most popular apps on sourceforge, runs most of the world's largest enterprise applications and runs most of the big software IDEs.

    It's all hype! Yeah, Java!

    Java uses native thread exclusively. Anything you can do in C++ with threads, you can do faster and safer in Java.

    Python has no ability to uses threads in a practical sense, due to Python GIL.
