After reading that, I'm glad I play on a platform that "just works".... PC. At least with PC there's a good chance you can tweak a few things and be playing.
I still can't finish God of War 3 because it crashes halfway through on my PS3.
orly? Since when do you get pointers, direct memory access, etc.
I must have missed that part of writing shaders when I write them! Maybe you could bang out a tutorial!
Usually your shader code is compiled into an intermediate format by the driver and then that is JIT'd and converted into something executable on the gpu. Even in the case of OpenGL ARB shaders, which look like assembly, those are just converted into yet another internal assembly language, are optimized and executed on the gpu.
Not if we take an approach like Google's nacl project, which allows you to run real native code safely in a browser.
The key thing is keeping it safe, which Google has put a lot of thought and legwork into.
Riiight, because Microsoft has never released anything before it's ready.
No, what they really mean is: torrents and other p2p systems.
It doesn't but Jesus does.
Global warming nuts are just the left wing's version of Creationists.

You could call it the "Please Don't Warez All Our Books Store"
That way your entire product line doesn't end up on TPB. It's business model is perfect!
I hope IBM throws in leather seats.

Nah chummer, Doc in Chiba hook you up real nice for cheap even.
Only set you back a few hundred New Yen, cheaper if ya catch a sale.
That's completely incorrect, rules are effectively immediately after you add them.
Linux doesn't require reboots for anything, even kernel upgrades with things like ksplice.

Exactly, it's what I tell all my girlfriends:
It's not the size that counts but how you use it.
Why waste time doing this when you could for for the $20mil xprize... for creating a magic lamp that grants wishes.
Chalk up another victory for Open Source!
Err wait...
Ever wonder why HLSL stands for High Level Shading Language?
You should ponder it for a while and get back to me.

GLSL and HLSL are about as hardware level as javascript.
Google Voice is pretty nice, gmail has an integrated client.
This brings a whole new meaning to the popular phrase "We're going to skype you in the ass!"
Congrats Ballmer and Team Microsoft! You go girl!
Poor lonely gal.
Haskell will lose it's cool when someone writes a real program in it and not just code examples.
My bullshit detector is ringing off the hook!
