The guys spending the cash for a 5800 series + are the same who will spend the same on 3 monitors. The hardware industry is driven by the enthusiast already. Is the mainstream who gets our scraps.
You obviously have not played a racing simulator in tripple screen. There are tricks to reducing bezel size and multiple monitor vendors are reducing bezel size as they are cathing on to tripple head. The bezels tend to not be noticable with you are immersed in a game. Some guys who are hard core just remove the monitor casing to get them even thinner.
The same way you can drive your real car with blind spots. With tripple head your resolution is not stretched it's increased. So you still see everything the same on the center screen but you get more now with the side monitors. There are tricks to reduce the bezel such as lining up the monitors to hide the bezel of the sides. Also once in the game the bezels tend to be ignored. I forget they are there.
If Apple did not use the OSI model and developed their own proprietary protocols then I would not care about what they are doing. But I think its pretty crappy that Steve will use layers 1-4 like everyone else but then he locks down 5-7 on his OS's. He simply uses open standards only when they suit his own purposes.
Instead of bitching and bringing more media attention to our weakness why does he not form a plan and get us where we need to be? You know...that "work" thing.
Who gives a crap about grammar? F7 my friends. Id rather spend my time studying Hyper-V or brusing up on my binary. My boss does not care about my grammar as long as I dont sound like an idiot.
Thats awesome. So what your saying is go to college so you can sit on your ass? I enjoy working because I do it on my own terms. I make an awsome salary for a 28 year old and I have never paid a single dollar for tuition. When my client made me an offer to come on board full time I only had 2 demands. My pay raises and I 100% run the network the way I see fit.
Depends on where you work. I expect my helpdesk guys to be able to troubleshoot a wide range of issues from DNS outage to an ethernet connection on the wrong VLAN. While I dont expect them to "fix" the issue, identification on network problems can help them develop their skills. I do train my guys a lot on company time.
I dont need a class to keep up with current hardware when I read PC perspective / hardOCP every day. Certs are not geared for geeks they are geared for non tech people who want to try geek work.
I will give a nod to Cisco certs as atleast they make you study the OSI/TCP models in depth with really gives anyone in programming / IT a solid foundation to build off. But I know that stuff already.
Certs are a joke. Im a highscool dropout, never taken any certs but I do pretty damned well. When I used to work for a consulting firm and we would get fresh college grads with plenty of certs but a lot of them just didnt have what it takes to make it in consulting. Now I am the the Sysadmin for a very well known private company and still consult on my off time through word of mouth from my previous clients. I specialize in Microsoft and Cisco. I do switching, routing and VOIP specifically call manager. Certs are a joke I have been doing this stuff since I was 14 kiss my ass you corporate mongers.
Could not agree more. I am a highschool dropout but I got into computers when I was 14 and then joined the navy when I was 19 and worked in IT for 6 years. I got out and was hired immediately for a helpdesk position for an IT firm in San Diego. Quickly worked my way up into consulting and one of my clients made me a really good offer. Still a high scool dropout and making really good money for my age. Im 28.
Unless your an exec I dont know why anyone would want to work for a public company. Less pay and more BS. Granted I never have to worry about it since im a high school dropout but the small to medium business sector shows me lots of love. I did consult a few public companies in San Diego mainly branch offices and I did not like how IT was treated.
TrackiR That tech is yesterdays news... Oh and with tripple head its even better!
The guys spending the cash for a 5800 series + are the same who will spend the same on 3 monitors. The hardware industry is driven by the enthusiast already. Is the mainstream who gets our scraps.
TrackIR Alot of sim fanatics use it and it works well.

3 1920x1080 monitors in a proper tripple head setup will net you a resolution of 5760x 1080 good luck getting that on a TV.

And what exactly did you do to try and fix the problem? Oh thats right...nothing.

The developers did not include widescreen ratios...again.. No widescreen, no thanks.
Really, So my force feedback wheel and racing cockpit must be an illusion. iRacing destroys any arcade BS.
Serious gamers use a PC. Anything else might as well be Learning with Elmo.

This is somthing that belongs on Newsvine. Let the morons discuss there.
Networking costs money. I dont care what platform your running. There is no excuse to not run IE8.
