I call bullshit. MS's internal organization is a mess where people fight against each other too. Or at least, so I have read from people who (used to) work there. Maybe this information is outdated and they somehow managed to resolve all that?
Forward progress is done in parallel to the remake after remake. Some prefer to stick to the old values and games and try to improve them in their own way; others will stick to sequels because it pays well, and then there's the small amount of games that experiment, try to innovate, etcetera.
This is exactly why I'm not buying the Boxee box. In the Netherlands (or perhaps I should say Europe as a whole), your options are limited even further. Sure, I have enough local stuff to watch/listen to, but I might as well use the audio and video player I've always been using for those (especially since Boxee doesn't properly find information for 80% of it, for some reason).
Does this feature also work with the software, ie. people who install just the Boxee software on their computer? Not that I'm interested in using it for that, but even if people don't have the box and that feature exists in the software, there should be no problem.
I'm still not sure what's so "wrong" or "different" about MS's implementation of the trash can, other than it's an icon on the desktop (that's always in the same spot for me, by the way). It serves the exact same purpose equally well, does it not?
Because apparently making JS more efficient isn't sufficient. I mean, they've been doing that for quite a while and are apparently reaching some limits.
Because you could make an insightful post, get moderated up, and then edit it to be trolling. (Okay, this could be avoided by locking editing as soon as somebody votes on your post, I guess...)
until they fix the UI (having another button on the top bar for almost every single extension I install is ugly and annoying)
They fixed this. You can drag a small area to the left of the extension icons to reduce the area where icons are shown, so you can only make, say, 3 icons appear and the rest appears in a collapsed menu next to it.
and for them to introduce a better tabs solution.
In about:flags, you can change a setting that makes the tabs appear to the left of your browsing session, much like a side bar.
In a way, we already communicate to our computer to let it know what we want to do. Then it "replies" by doing whatever instruction we asked it to do. Regarding the actual topic, we just "teach" it to make human-like replies, so it's not particularly creepy.
Oh, and Google planned to remove H.264 from Chrome some months ago, though it still seems to be working anyway.
I find it looks more like Opera, what with the menu at the top left and all that.
Maybe you wouldn't. But maybe you would want to contribute to one of the many large (and smaller) open-source projects on SF instead.

Wait, so they bought McAfee so they can ensure it will always be bloated enough to waste your CPU? That's kind of a dick move...
That's pretty funny, considering IE used to be one of the bigger security risks at the time.

Because it's not really 'in Europe' yet
Yes it is. The original poster said this:
Topic: Good news, Eurpeans!
This week would be an excellent time to put your PS3 up for sale on EBay!
Simple. You should feel self-pity for even considering to insult such people. Language is a complex beast and people have always changed it.
Seriously, you can mention grammatical mistakes to people. But don't be a dick about it.
1 MB for 5 and a half minutes is hardly huge. Though compared to pageviews it may be.
Maybe we're causing bufferbloat on their server by watching that video!

Apparently Iomega will be releasing a nice rectangular version of the hardware with Boxee installed on it.
That would be pretty weird, though, seeing earth revolving around a tiny little apple. Makes for some interesting astrological diagrams, though.
This is true. I only have one gripe with the registry myself: don't make it so fucking important that your system becomes unbootable if it's wiped.

Windows works like this too, not sure what you're doing wrong.

RTFA. The compiler will be able to compile to other architectures, and the browser will detect this and use appropriately compiled .nexe file.
Apparently they verify the code before it's run, and the compiler is made in such a way that it can only create verifiable code.
Yup, there's even a special installer that lets you install IE6, 7 and 8 alongside each other.

Addendum: there's also a "Hide button" option for extension icons now. Just right-click on it.
