exactly I care more about the local referendums than the stupid fucking monkey position we call president....congress has more power anyways yet nobody knows their own canidates.......I for one, am voting Nader to get them funding and have some competition...otherwise Id leave the prez part blank
you obviouslly violated somebodies rights in the process of committing whatever crime you did, therefore I have no pity for you losing your rights...I for one don't understand how hard it is NOT to commit crimes, we aren't talking civil disobediance...I never seem to get the urge to rob or rape people
maybe its just me
excuse the spelling;)
I personally had a SMS before a NES and I loved the sega to death...and once the genesis came out...I even bought segacd(dumb)...passed on the saturn and went psx...Ill go psx2 next.
what the fuck are you talking about? Are you signal-11? Using BUZZwords worse than a two dollar trading.com company to try and pretend you know what the fuck you are talking about.
no...signal_11 just restates the obvious...and because it is so obvious...morons who have points mod it up since they recognize it. Rarely, does he contribute anything new.
a company famous for denying and delaying fixes to known and exploitable bugs deserves to get all the shit for any and every bug that shows up. It comes with the territory. If a car dealership who sold lemons knowingly...accidentally sold one. it really wouldn't matter now would it. He'd still get sodomized.
1-13: This is exactly why the fleeing aliens chose this planet to hide and then conduct their life-forming experiments on, yes.
Don't assume that 1-13 are effects of a god. Merely causes for the effect of life.
Python.
Roll-out is just as fast if not faster than VB or any form of basic.
Its more powerful, developed by programmers for programmers. Object oriented from the get-go. And on and on.
The only thing missing for it...is a RAD/GUI dev tool. Think about. A gui dev tool like vb's...with python code running the show. Using TK....its portable to any TK platform.
I'm extremely surprised pythons imp of TK hasnt been pushed to the forefront of RAD projects for linux. That could be the thing to get all those companies that rollout small...but quick devrate inhouse programs to switch over.
Or maybe...I'm just crazy;)

are you 12?
You are a fucking moron.
Nothing you said was original or even relevant.
I repeat. You are a 12 year old.
holy shit man. Info has always been power. Keep the people ignorant, then you maintain the control. Look@ us nat'l security. The have all the power, cause they keep the info to themselves so they HAVE to make all the decisions. Sure, there is a difference between info and tanks, and the roman empire and todays world contrast very differently. But..just take a look at the russian revolution to see how info can = power.
How hard is this concept? I wouldn't support a company that ripped CD's/movies/books and resold them..but thats not what napster or MP3's in general do. God...you act so witty, yet you're a MORON.
Ummm..the mp3 argument is valid but the "making free software of same kind" is completely wrong. That's like saying buying a Chevy is backstabbing Ford....or changing your own oil is backstabbing quick-E-lube. Far from it.
It's their job to service the customer. If they don't get the job done, the customer doesn't like it, or they just plain smell that's their problem. By buying/making somewhere/thing else, the customer is just exercising free choice. As compared to the mp3 argument where the user can be taking property without paying.
Ya! You know all the money the Artists get after the Record companies steal, I mean earn, their cut. The system is fucked. Real artists realize it and are supporting MP3s. Sellouts like Metallica(who suck anyway) aren't. Some others are just clueless and dunno whats going on. The record companies are NOT scared because people aren't buying albums. Sales have far from dropped lately. They are scared that artists will empower themselves and the RIAA will be washed away. THAT is why they are afraid.
Just think about it. How many people who were going to/would 100% buy a CD decide not to because they can get the MP3? Very few. Sure...people(college kids?) will get lotsa mp3s instead of buying any cds...but they would buy few CD's in the first place so their is no difference felt.
Look at MP3.com...and tell me why the RIAA is scared.
No they can't. Their OS is trash. Why accept a low-grade product? I certainly won't. Go read the artical in this month's Linux Journal. It's great. Basically explains how MS listened to wait users(read nontech suits) wanted and added every and any feature(talking paperclips)..spoiling them rotten, and in turn producing the blotted bugridden product they call Windows. The article also points out how Apple did the opposite. Jobs never cared what people wanted, he "knew" what they "needed"...which has led MacOS to be the way it is. They even mention how the developers of excel say that the majority of features are only there cause one or two people requested them. MS and Apple are at the two extremes of customer interfacing...
Look at it this way: If they were car companies Apple wouldn't add cupholders even if 99% of the people wanted it...if the developers didn't. MS would add any feature the people wanted...even if it made the car inefficient, unreliable and dangerous.
And actually OT...the point is...DOS isn't gone. Its still the GUI over dos. They are just trying to HIDE it, and make it look like they are making progress..As someone already stated...barring a MASSIVE rewrite..dos won't disappear.
Wise man reads, thinks, then posts. Fool only reacts. Take your own advice? Where did I say it was OK for kids to access porn? Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Nowhere! Wow, interesting concept. I said: Stop kids from accessing porn when they ACTUALLY attempt to. Not when they sit down at a computer to research, Type in: "Pornography and the Internet" or "Breast reduction" and can't access any sites. The list software is NOT open. NO ONE, except the Co., knows what is being blocked. Would you like the same being put on your newspaper? I doubt it. Hold the same standards for all mediums.
School shooters are examples of what has happened to the youth of today. They are growning exponentially more self-aware and more freethinking than any generation prior. And yet, the fist has been closing tighter. And yet...you want to stop children like that from finding information about things?
And I LOVED the part about kids being less mature. It was quite funny. You must mean those mature adults who rape and beat women? Or shoot gays? Or drink all day and suck off our welfare system? Or commit perjury and get away with it. DAMN. Being older really does make one mature. NAH...it just makes them more solid...more concrete in nature and beliefs. Which, to normal people can be a good thing...to some.. Nope.
I critized your use of free speech? Pray, tell. Oh, you mean I disagreed with what you said in your free speech. I'm very sorry. I never said anything about you not using your right...Now did I? I can attack you, your morals, your speech, however I want. I give the same to you, and wouldn't even think of denying. We both know it will do little to change each other. BUT IT'S THERE.
Point of contention. Produce facts, studies, etc. which prove that having Internet access actually produces
a better adjusted, educated, economically viable citizen. I contend this is your opinion fostered by the
"Digital Divide" crowd. It would be far better to train young people on hardware, operating systems,
coding, applications and ethics before throwing them into the maelstrom of the Internet - my opinio...It's not about the internet itself...its about the information THEREIN. If it could be found in books on the shelf, it'd be the same. But sadly, most of it can't. People using the net at libraries aren't using it to study computing, or networking..How you could get that in your head is silly. They are finding information. Information from across the globe from somebody who experienced something somewhere. Something you may have no oppurtunity to learn about otherwise. Thats what it's about. It's not about 'learning about computing'.
Oh..and why don't YOU present facts/reports/studies to the contrary? You want to argue that having many different sources of information on a subject is NOT benefical and does NOT create more informed people, then go ahead. I'll just laugh.
STOP RELATING IT TO PORN. ITS NOT ABOUT PORN YOU MORON. Jesus christ.
It's about social and political information being censored just because. The tradeoff is NOT worth it. Give them an inch, they'll take a foot...it's people like you who are giving away their freedom that makes me sick.
The government isn't at all obligated to present this information, legally speaking. The government is legally obligated to do what WE, the PEOPLE want. They are to represent US, not their little groups. I can't even believe you said that...LEGALLY, by the constitution...they are established ONLY for us. Not for them. We are(used to be, should be) the government...even though we gave it up to two ignorant popularity groups a long time ago.
This is an excellent idea...coupled with the open-communitybased-filtering software idea up there^ it could be an excellent combo. Not only provide boxen for libraries but provide a firewall box with legitimate blocking software...to get the www.whitehouse.com requests.
They should block your stupidity then. THIS ISNT ABOUT CENSORING PORN YOU FUCKING IDIOT..*deep breath*
This is about blocking things which do not deserve to be blocked. And every filtering program does it. There is none of significant quality to be used at a public level...there are standards you know? You wouldnt want superlow grade steel to be used to build your library? So why settle for shitty filtering software.
This is actually an awesome idea. Keep everything open: source, database listings, etc, etc. With peer review, the ability to judge for yourself what's on the list...even have seperate configurable lists you can 'join'...like hate/racist, porno, violence or whatnot so it is easily configurable.
The fact that it's free could be just the incentive schools and libraries would need to take it on. Ultimately their would indeed be people in charge of the overall deployment of each list...but with the list open and easily viewable, we could make sure they are not abusing the power.
exactly I care more about the local referendums than the stupid fucking monkey position we call president....congress has more power anyways yet nobody knows their own canidates.......I for one, am voting Nader to get them funding and have some competition...otherwise Id leave the prez part blank

You answered your own fucking question moron. THEY ARE SELLING IT. Big difference.
THEY ARE SELLING THEM YOU FUCKING MORON

More people, read consumers and poor artists, are losing out.
