Because it is annoying to track down what component is connected to what menu on what view linked to what piece of content. If you look at the ER diagram and then the front-end interface, you find Joomla has the bad habit of having multiple items refer to this one component, but component never refers back to any of the items. If you want cookie cutter sites quick then Joomla is a good way to go about things. However if you have to maintain the site, you better have the site creator on speed dial. Because odds are, your content monkey with their excessive html and javascript knowledge will screw it up, and debugging with Joomla is just not pretty.

Um... Ok, you have a closed network over hundred miles of wires, what stops me from doing a "on the wire" attack? Just because something is not connected to the internet does not make it physically safe. unless you wrap your communications wire with high voltage power wires... then, it would be rather difficult to perform a physical attack.

When money isn't a motivator, the employer loses a very clearly defined edge when negotiate with the said employee. So at that point it is all about if the employee is worth it or not. So don't be surprised if your work environment suddenly become bad after couple years.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but in the real world those who do nothing just get promoted and manage people with real skills. After all, it makes no business sense to promote programmers to become managers, that's just a waste of talent.
Hopefully this study would actually increase the quality of story lines in RPGs today. There are plenty of games that have incredible graphics, but the stories behind all those graphics are so horrendous that we just throw our hands in the air and rage quit.
Script writing for games are very different from writing books, that is obvious. However, those scripts are also very different from movie scripts, and game developers do not get that. I see plenty of games with cheesy third rate action flick movie scripts that they bring down the over all experience of games.
Presentation is also important. I see plenty of games use self-coined terms out of nowhere, then throw you a gigantic codex so you can dig through walls of text just to figure out what the hell they are talking about. That's like failing composition 101 where the professor requires you to write introductions. You don't just throw key details into the bibliography and call it a day.
So yes, hopefully this study can improve these points.
If you are able to achieve the same goal solo in a game where others have to band together as a team, that also trains you in a different manner. You would be more than likely to think "outside of the box" when presented with a problem and explore all none-intended options.

Just because you obtain some arbitrary amount of bandwidth does not mean the heavy users will not soak these up as well. All it takes is word of mouth and the number heavy users grow from few and far between to a good portion of your user base. There is no real scalability with upgrading. What we really need is a better understand of the problem and a feasible way to approach it, instead of shouting the same old quick response from ages ago without even bothering with proper research.

The reality however is that cable and teleco have divied out service area plots and hardly ever expand into each others' "turf". Even in one of the richest county in United States - Fairfax, VA. Depends on where you live, you either get Cox, Verizon, or Comcast. Areas where you may choose between the three service providers practically don't exist. So what happens when you want to drop your ISP? Well, the alternative is 56k dialup.
Apache has to run as root at some point or else it can't bind to port 80. What you see from ps is after apache had setuid and forked. You can do the same thing in windows, but don't you agree it falls upon apache to do spawn processes as an unprivileged user? If you remember back in Apache 1 days, it was the same way in Linux, you had to run as root or load it as a plugin for inetd if you wanted to run it on port 80. I remember back in the days when we were using ipfwadm to forward all packets with server port 80 dest to port 8080 just so we could run Apache as a regular user. And even then it didn't work right all the time. In this specific case, I really don't see any reason to blame the OS.
