Hey, you can't single out Germany as being Fascist. Though countries like the UK and USA are only working their way up, they are pretty oppressive, depending on how you look at it.
During the "interviews" regarding WCG, most gamers start losing their highly competitive edge by 25. They're as young as 14-15. These people can make 100+ grand a year. Restricting gaming to adults is ridiculous and hurting people's livelihoods.
You think gaming is dangerous? How many people suffer more serious injuries than carpal tunnel syndrome in sports like Hockey, Football and Boxing? And how sick is Olympic gymnastics. Besides the fact they stunt their growths, and their level of obsession is insane.
You know what I think, Germany is bitter about not winning WCG, what with it being in their country in 2008 and is doing this so they can say, oh well, our competitors couldn't practice till they were 17 unlike the Koreans.
Besides if we don't practice zombie hunting, and anti-terrorist efforts, those losers who don't have experience will be victims of the zombie hordes and freak out if an AK47 lands in their hands and they have to defend themselves.
But seriously. Critical thinking skills. Hand-eye coordination. Prioritizing. Improved Reflexes and Motor skills. Typing Speed. Memorizing. Build-order. Tactics. Resource management. Tolerance to Mundane and repetitive actions. These are all skills garnered from games like SC, RE, CS, WC, racing, Civilization. These are skills maybe if our politicians had, they wouldn't have screwed up the world so much.

Actually I'd rather the government setup a non-profit that works more truly like what insurance is for. A guaranteed loan to pay off accidents. Maybe even work like a lifetime tax-free FSA plan, where you can opt to withhold paycheck into a personal "auto insurance fund" to pay for accidents if you need. Of course I would want that "holding" to inheritable, so the government or agency doesn't take your money if you happen to die.

When we have small accidents now, it's not even worth getting insurance involved. If you never have an accident, good for you. If you're having too much accidents, force you to either pay up your outstanding debt or revoke your right to drive. But people should not have the right to drive if they can't do so responsibly, and if they're just plain ass unlucky that they can't keep up with accident payments, than they shouldn't get to drive either lest they finally kill someone.
Although...I guess I'm more of a socialist than a capitalist...so this will never fly. I find the majority of people I meet to be short-sighted and fiscally irresponsible (could be cause I also work in a non-profit) and perhaps needs the government (not saying they're any better with money) to hold their hand to keep them on track, if the government plans on giving tax money to help them when their mistakes catch up to them. Like oh...buying a house you can't afford, buying luxury and going on vacation when you still have a mortgage, and then crying when you lose your job and going to lose your house because you spent money you could have saved for your house, on luxuries and gratification. Leasing a vehicle because you want something new every 3 years even though it costs more money. Asking for financial aid on heat and food because cable tv with HBO is a necessity you and your children can't live without.
These same people bug me about me saving money for something in the future. I don't know what yet. Maybe a house. Maybe retirement. Maybe a luxury. Maybe unemployment due to a bad economy. But I know the fact is, if I don't save, I won't have the money when I need it, and if I find I don't need it later, I could spend it then.
Sometimes people do something not for monetary gain or even fame, but for the sake of doing it. He probably wanted to test his skills against something that could possibly beat a grandmaster. A new challenge so to speak.
Along with what the other guy said about rights to travel in other means. A driving license is a privelage to show you are capable of using a deadly weapon responsibly. People driving without insurance, probably does so without a license. I know in Springfield, MA that's a huge problem. But just because people have the right to use the public resource, doesn't mean the government can't set fair rules to govern such usage and protect others from individuals.

I agree, good standard of living for everyone is ridiculous. Sometimes people just have to suffer. Instead of building homes for 1 family, they should be building smaller apartments for 4 families. People in China and Asia pay for a space as small as your office.
Instead of feeding people with diverse food, give them basic protein, carb, and water or whatever else gets donated. You know what's a cheap and mass-produce source of nutrients? Tofu and rice. Tons of poor people in Asia live on it. Western society needs to suck it up. Help people survive, long enough for them to pick themselves off the ground and help them with job training and creating cheap jobs, instead of making the few get the "American Dream". PS, we in MA pay 70 grand a year for toll booth collectors. How many 15 grand a year jobs can that pay for? Even if it's laboring on the farm to make the food they'll eat.
The government doesn't just spend tax money of "helpful" things. They waste a lot of money on pet projects and incompetence. Just recently we had an article of them passing unconstitutional gaming law which will be overturned in court and paid off with tax payer money.
CIA, FBI, NSA, DHS, NCIS, CID, they stumble all over each other.
About 30% of my income between State tax, Sales Tax, and Federal tax. Along with "fees", and fake parking and speeding tickets to generate income. The government does not give back nearly enough.
You know what the government recently did with a large chunk of money? Invaded another and occupied it for many years. Paid into a mortgage industry who gave loans to people who shouldn't have gotten loans to begin with. I believe the government actually wants to help these people keep their ill-gotten homes. Man I wish I could shill some money too, great use of my taxes.
Obviously you forget the benefits of hooking up with young girls with the blessing of the parents to further their religious goals. Oh and multiple girls at that.
