Probably missing something but couldn't the municipality simply have revoked the permits? Maybe not in the case of existing infrastructure, but future projects. I'm assuming at some point the wires travel underground. How hard would it have been to simply not let them open a street?
I mostly understand that our elected representatives are beholden to the corporations that help them earn that office, and that has a trickle down effect to appointed positions. But wouldn't it be possible for the head of the FCC to explain to people how his ruling will affect them? Maybe if things were explained in simple terms?
Cat's are smarter. For example they know to get the hell out of the way when I'm fumbling around in the morning with one bloodshot eye open. The dog on the other hand thinks it's a great time to play...

Okay, I gotta ask - exactly why do artists think they're owed a living?
Maybe I'm missing something here but when did access to music become a right? Last time I checked The United States still practiced some form of capitalism. If you don't like the price of something you have the ability to NOT BUY IT. I'm tired of hearing people talk about how bad a company is and continue to buy or steal (talking about all products not just copyrighted work)things prduced by said company.
We as Americans (I'm looking at you too Canadia)seem to have lost the most powerful tool our society has given us. That is the power to vote. If you don't like the price DON'T BUY IT. If you don't like the quality DON'T BUY IT. If you don't like how the company operates DON'T BUY IT. I could go on and on but I think you get my point.
In my opinion, Idle and the new metamod system are evidence that they had a good thing going and just had to keep fucking with it, like they couldn't resist.
I'm not so sure that an IT union would be as strong as other unions. Most unions work because they have the power to shut down or severely hamper production. While I realize outsourcing to India or China is a hindrance to production, it does allow for a simple union busting strategy.
I saw a fire hydrant spewing water once, called the fire department, they said, "call the water department.
Well come on, it's not like there was fire spewing out of it!!
