I have written a Dropbox client and Dropbox also uses OAuth for authentication, and I didn't include the key in the source code. And now when someone wants to compile my application, they have to get a new key from Dropbox.

I almost fully agree with you. Except that Firefox 5 breaks compatibility with some (or maybe most) add-ons. That's what makes it 5.0 instead of 4.x in the eyes of most people. What's wrong with it is that it's released so quickly, severely shortening the previous version's life.
The next big thing might be the separation of UI and core program logic.
An example of this is what Nokia's Qt is heading towards: QML for UI (which is similar to or might even be a subset to Javascript, I am not sure) and Qt for the program logic and actual implementation of functionality. This is a powerful approach and it has many advantages that I think most Slashdot reader know.
This might a new (optional) strategy for Microsoft applications, HTML5/Javascript for the UI and.NET for the implementation.
Disclaimer: I am an expert in neither Qt/QML nor HTML5/Javascript/.NET and what I am saying is just a thought, and I haven't heard about Microsoft (or anyone else for that matter) saying that this is what they are aiming at. I just wanted to share a thought.
I don't hate MeeGo, in fact I own an N900 and I wish that MeeGo would have been in a better situation on mobile phones. But I think that they should have spent a little more time thinking of a better name.
Wait, the battery is rechargeable? If this is an ADVERTISEMENT in a paper magazine, why would you want to recharge it beyond the novelty? What good is this, and with a battery of 70min, wouldn't they ALL have no power by the time you get it off the shelf?
Due to the variety of types of errors and possible causes of data loss, I find that -throughout the recovery process- the more options you set by yourself (requiring knowledge and experience in hard drives and file systems) the more efficient the process is.
So, no matter the tool you choose, try to provide as much info to the tool as possible, and don't rely on the software developer(s) to choose a best general case which will always work...
I don't think that MS really wants to lose tons of users, because I am from Syria and switching the country in my profile re-granted my access to the Messenger service.
