No I have not dealt with such a child. My mother has though. Could you describe the symptoms? I'm starting to think it's not exactly what I have, though certainly feels like it... I'm interested in what his reactions are to different substances at different times, cicardian rythm, eating habits, anything, so I can get a good idea of what I'm dealing with, if you don't mind that is. Doctors have demnstrated themselfs as useless.

I went through a similar story - had/have ADHD symptoms for 3 years, nobody had any idea what to do, and since I was affective as well, they perscribed me all sorts of crap - like mood stabilizers, low grade sleeping aids, SSRIs (bleh), antipsychotics (risperidone) (this was the worst of the bunch, I didn't have panic attacks, and was reasonably inteligent and comunicative before starting it, while I was on it, I was simply praying for death, because I had lost all of that. I was a sniveling, unreactive, confused pile of fear, with no idea of where and what I am.), and SNRI (venlavaxine) (right after the risperidone, the side effects haunt me to this day. I have forgotten what an orgasm feels like. I can jack off all I want. My sperm is probably healthy. But I don't feel a thing.). And all this before I even lost my virginity, I'm 16 FFS, there are probably 50 y.o. here that are in better operating order than me...And no, nothing got fixed. Only stim available here in BG is methylphenidate, tried it, the nothing that ensued was impressive. And amphetamine is illigal, period, around here. Thanks, US, for the global drug war you started, thanks for screwing me over. Good thing I got my hands on xanax, at least I'm getting screwed with a calm smile. Sorry for the rant. Laws are not there to funbction as sin taxes, they are there to control risk, insomnia or intoxication, it's all impaired drivng, and must face equal penalties.
I never get invited to parties where there are girls around. Just a lot of drunks. I might as well get drunk, it's not as if I'm getting laid, sober or not. I do not condone DUI in any way, but I somehow feel sympathtic. You could have most of the stuff most people want in life, but so what. If you don't/can't like what you have/had, you feel entitled, you don't care about anyone else, subconciously, you just want the next few hours to be perfect, which unfortunatley usually includes EtOH/drugs. I'm not short-sighted enough to go behind the wheel (even if I were old enough for the task) under the influence, but the driving factors behind that behaviour I believe are quite well understood, it's just that most people are afraid to bring them up. Pull your collective act together, make the world, not great, but just bearable, get some efficient and accesible therapies for depression and anxiety (SSRI don't cut it in any way, if the subject weren't medical, I'd call them useless trash). You will see a lot less people getting drunk, and most at considerably lower levels. The ignition interlock seems overkill, especially at such a low limit - a speed limiter would more in place.
DNS proxy on home routers, alternate fimwares, appropriate information pages, new service at local PC shops, router reflash. Oh, and if your ISPs are running on 2+ y.o. DNS server software, I feel sorry for you (no sark intended).

Methylphenidate is not an amphetamine analogue, it's a phenethylamine analogue.
