    The impact on the vote of someone voting illegally that would have been prevent with a voter ID system (+1 vote) is exactly the same as someone who is legally entitled to vote but unable to because of a voter ID system (-1 vote).

    Since there is no evidence of wide spread illegal voting, voter ID laws will cause more distortion to the vote from people who are unable to vote then prevent illegal voting.

    I don't think fitting in the LEDs is the problem. It's fitting in the 120VAC - 5VDC converter to power the LEDs is the problem. You have a squeeze in "wall-wart" in every bulb.

    In Pascal assignments are done with x:=y where the side with the ":" is always the distention. "=" is used to test equality and reversing the order works exactly the same.

    Maybe they want you to check in 10 and 30 minutes before the movie starts do ensure you'll watch all the preshow commercials. Previously, I expect regular users always arrived late to avoid the commercials.

    Sounds like Iwao smashed the record, but she happened to use Google Cloud computers to do it. With just 25 machines, Google staff probably was unaware of her existence.

  13. 15 to 20 years ago there was voice recognition software that ran on PCs without using cloud. The average smartphone has more computing power then a 20 year old PC and should be able to do it easily.

    The advantage of using 3rd party sites is that the client can download the 5MB of Angular 2 once and use it across many sites, reducing bandwidth over all.

    The Ivory Tower may be far from perfect, but truth and reality is, at least superficially, the overriding concern. It usually win out, often in battles fought long ago.

    What a lot of people get on the web are falsehoods crafted (or created by meme evolution) to appeal to human irrationality.

    There are very few viable places for new hydro left.

    New nuclear generators are more expensive then other renewables in most cases.

    (When Ontario eliminated coal generation it, among other things, expanded the capacity of the Niagara hydro generating station and refurbished some nuclear plants.)
