Judging by the bitter, entitled comments here I can only imagine that many Slashdot posters are unable to get their sexual needs met, and thus are walking around in a constant state of sexual frustration.

No, that's not the way it works. A troll which is called out as a troll does not get to claim said response constitutes a success. Only a response which does not acknowledge the trollish nature of a post constitutes a successful troll. You can't just declare yourself a winner, there are rules, and you're not Charlie Sheen.

  3. Every year, for the next twenty years, we will have fusion in twenty years. Same as always.

  4. White guys have all the power, just look at our government and the boards and CEOs of the fortune 500, idiot. If you don't have power, and you are a white guy, it is because you are an utter failure, and even being born on third base you can't fucking score.

  5. You first, precious snowflake. Drop the butthurt and stop whining.

  6. Wow. I'm not sure how you do it in your family, but in mine, we are drawn to people with different DNA. We tend not to date other family members, but maybe that's not how you do things where you're from. The deep south, maybe? Appalachia?

  7. No you idiot, he's saying that, statistically speaking, if you picked someone at random, you'd pick someone not of your own race. The fact that most couples are not mixed race shows that most people still use race as a major criteria in picking a mate. Which is fine, it's not just white folks making that decision, it's that everyone prefers their own race and yes, that makes everyone a little bit racist, as the puppets in "Avenue Q" will tell you.

  8. My what a cogent rebuttal. Did the older middle school boys teach you that?

  9. Like a fish who doesn't know what water is, you don't even know what the word means.

  10. Oh bullshit, white guys are still have more power and prestige in society than anyone else. Whining about how hard it is being a white guy makes you look extremely childish. And that fat white buffoon on the TV? He will always have a hot young wife. Oh look at that, the white guy is uncomfortable with mixed race couples and thinks there are too many of them on TV. Color me shocked.

  11. Nobody listens to the "libertarian party." Not even Rand Paul. Libertarian is to conservative what Lexus is to Toyota: It's a branding exercise. It's not my fault that some people are too stupid to know who owns the brand they are buying.

  12. Keep telling yourself that your political views are unique and special, snowflake. But you quack like a duck and walk like a duck so the rest of us are gonna keep calling you a duck.

  13. Guess what, the world doesn't have to accept the labels you place on yourself. We get to make our own assessments and label you whatever the fuck we want to label you. You are a conservative. I don't care what you call yourself. Libertarian, maybe? Same thing. The conservatives purchased the Libertarian brand, thanks to the free market, so they can do whatever they want with it. You don't have the kind of cash necessary to define what "libertarian" means.

  14. Science isn't about opinion, it is built on observations. Your ridiculous anecdotal fairy tales won't sway anyone. Why do you even bother? Just stay in your conservative opinion bubble where pesky facts can't reach you.

  15. And here you are to demonstrate the fact, thanks! I can always count on conservatives to act like conservatives and try to tell me what I'm doing is wrong.

  16. Even if climate change weren't happening, those kind of conservatives would always find some reason to yell at the rest of us. They like telling people what to do. Environmentalists just want to live and let live, they would rather not be telling people what to do. But people keep dumping their pollution in the shared environment we all have to live in. It's like you let your dog shit on my lawn and then you call me names when I tell you to pick it up.

  17. You misspelled 'evangelical conservative climate change denier.'

  18. Are you lying, or do you not know how to read graphs? The graph starts to drop in September of 2016. You know, when the election was held.

I'm aware of how the Laffer curve works, but most reputable economic studies show the top of the curve is at around a 60% top marginal tax rate. Anything lower than that and you are losing revenue. In any case, I am just going by what the budget itself claims. It counts the same two trillion twice, read the articles, it's a basic math error.

Only yeah, they are supposed to be revenue neutral, where did you get the ridiculous idea that we can cut taxes, spend the same amount, and not go bankrupt? Did Reagan tell you that? Reagan had Alzheimer's the whole time he was president, everything he said was gobbledygook.

Hanlon's Razor applies here. Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

  22. Technically true, Obama appointed him to the committee, but he was just one of five members, not the chairman of the FCC. Only three members of the committee can be members of the party currently in power, the other two must come from the other side. So Obama had to pick a republican.

Tom Wheeler was chairman of the FCC during Obama's second term. Pai did not take over automatically, the chairman is appointed by the president. Because this issue is essentially one group of powerful corporations fighting a second group of powerful corporations, it tends not to be a partisan issue so much as a "who gave which politician the most money recently" issue.

These systems have been around forever, SpaceX is (once again) doing nothing new or special. They only work when there is forewarning, and that is unlikely to be had during a fueling mishap. This isn't a cartoon or action movie, you can't just outrun an explosion in progress by jumping fast and wearing cool shades.

Huh. I guess white people are a minority, worldwide. And soon to be just another minority here at home, thankfully. Being a majority does weird things to people's heads. Like making them think they can put words in other people's mouths.
