    That's not true at all.
    The dollar has value. It has government backing, it has protection for consumers, it is globally recognized, and pretty stable.
    That is more valuable then gold.

    common means for exchange IS value.

    It's a lot easier then trying to trade sheep. And gold has it's own issue; hence we don't use it anymore.

    is it? I can't help but to think back to how horrible people where treated prior to banking regulations.
    What do you do when a bank can just rake you money and you have no recourse?

    It would destroy the middle class, increase the wealth gap, cripple trades, and we would take a steep hit in revenue.

    What the fair tax doesn't take into account the difference in percentage basic needs to get along in society the rich have compared to everyone else.
    And other issues as well, but I suspect anyone who thing the fair tax is a good idea probably wouldn't understand them. Not that the are necessarily stupid, but that they haven't learned to thin about the details of things and impact.

    Hopefully AU will change their regulatory law to stop this sort of greedy crap.

    But 7 days later we are on alert and taking action.
    Another day and the people on slashdot are ranting about how 'they' are just being scaremonger, and how they never get the flu.

    25 million is not chump change to ANYONE. It will need to be reported, their stock may take a slight dip. No business owner says '25 million? we don't need it.

    They may determine their efforts to get 25 million will cost more then the actually 25 million, but that's a business decision that has nothing to do with chump change.

    What kind of life define all enjoyment in eating?

    Frankly, I'd eat nothing but beets the rest of my life it meant another hour with my kids, or future grand kids. Or just feeling the warm sun.

    And I love to eat, but I love to breath even more.
